I did 50% whole shield, 15% roll downs for reference. Was actually stopped in this picture for my tint.

Outside for reference.

Tinted my GTP, not my Tahoe. But same basic idea.

I did 50% ceramic on my windshield without a brow. One day I'll do like a 5% brow but for now I'm content. I really want to wish I would have went 35%, but I know my vision at night would be hindered unless I did a crazy retrofit like TL projectors.

With just 15/30% ceramic sides:

With the 50% on the windshield:

Contrast of the 15% fronts, 50% windshield and outside world:

Never been pulled over for any of the tint. Im pretty sure LEO's dont have a meter to test the windshield as the A pillar gets in the way. If I get a ticket, Ill pay it. It's beyond worth it.

I'm all for blacking out the rear windows and front doors around 10% and a good 5% 5-6" brow on the windshield but I can not get why people do the entire windshield.

Police and accidents are just waiting to happen. All I see is $$$ waiting to be thrown away maybe even a life depending on circumstances. And if it were ever an issue and the courts were involved and they found that your windshield was tinted your done. Just my .02c not trying hate on anyone.

The trooper that stopped me had a meter that was a 2 piece and had suction cups. My 50% metered to 42% on his machine.

I recently bought my Tahoe with a tinted brow on my windshield. It comes down fairly low. I think it's either 5 or 20 percent. I don't really like it. I've been debating taking it off. It makes the windshield look a lot smaller especially at night since visibility is low. Kind of reminds me of my 2010 Camaro windshield

How far is too low?, I would just trim it especially if its a good tint job. "legally" windshield tent should not go past that lil line at the corner of the windshields or just past the factory shaded/tent of the windshield. Like I said earlier 5-6" brow is usually a pretty good look and helps with the sun glare.

I love my tinted windshield. It's actually legal in VA to have it done. I've had 35 and 50 but prefer 50. All my cars have it and been doing it for 10 years now.

Yes there are two piece meters but more expensive so most carry the slide on meter for roll up windows.

My Denali the entire windshield is tinted 30% and I've also got a 5% brow that comes down 8-9". The sides are 5% on top of 5%. I don't have issues seeing out in the day or night. If you would like a inside picture looking out I can post one.

My duramax has %45 on the windshield and a 5% brow but it only comes down 6".

50% Windshield and 20% on the sides. People tell me all the time they can only see my knuckles during the day time. Having had 5% on the side windows with the windshield tint, its like driving in a fish bowl at night when the sides are to dark if you live in rural areas.

Hoping to add to this thread soon. For now though, just gathering ideas.

Here in NY, it's illegal to have the windshield tinted, other than the top strip, which can't extend below 6". Front side windows aren't supposed to block more than 35% of the light, whereas the rear and back windows can be completely blacked out if desired (I had a friend who spray painted his:badidea:).

Yea I don't get it either . Its cool looking for show cars but not practical for a dd. Unless youre a drug dealer or the president lol.
Just like 5$ on the sides, not really necessary. I like have full visual of my surroundings without doubt.
Plus I'm a rediculous good looking guy so I want them ladies at the stop lights to see me :gayfight:

My eyes are sensitive to bright lights. I knew it was illegal but had it done anyway. That wasn't my daily driver, only drove it on nice days and in the summer. Was done for couple years before I got popped for it.

It's 70% legal here, I am eyeing the 50%. Buddy of mine quoted $75 for legal and $100 for 50%. I'm undecided

Its also 70% here, don't really see that as worth it, think im going to go with 50% on my driver and passenger side which is the limit here, and a 20% brow to match the factory, just for now.
