Anyone know the difference between the TX6R kit and the TC6R kit? Surely someone has Wilwoods on their rig...Has anyone installed these on a 2015+? If so, looking for your opinion on performance and longevity. I plan to do some towing with my Yukon and am looking to invest in some additional stopping power. Thanks!
Thirdcoast,The TX are the Extreme version and only have slotted rotors which give the brake surface more swept area.
The TC are for trucks with larger wheels and need more stopping power and come with slotted & drilled rotors and work with factory master cylinder with no problem.
I have used Willwood on all my race cars, but opted for the Baer Eradispeed Kit on my 09 Tahoe 6.2L LTZ as it is less money and gives me great stopping power for the street. This kit uses the factory or aftermarket stock 4 piston caliper, but I run the Baer Pads along with the Baer rotors.. I do not tow with this vehicle, but feel that this braking system would work for towing also..
BTW, I use the Baer brakes on all 4 wheels, not just the front.. and whatever you do, make sure to follow the Bedding In process to the letter!!!
Good luck,
Thirdcoast
Yates, is this your ride? Besides looking damn nice, those look like the TX’s. If that’s your ride, any opinion on the performance?Nothing to add but inspiration

Can anyone confirm part numbers
Can anyone confirm part numbers
140-8992 and
140-9407
will fit a 2018 Yukon Denali? Those are the part numbers for a 2016. When I called Wilwood, they indicated that they didn’t test the product for fitment on the 2017 or 2018. Wilwood suggested I reach out to GM to see if there has been any change in the hub or knuckle for 2017 or 2018. Not gonna lie, made me think about Brembos at all four corners but the rear Brembos are hard to find and much more expensive than the Wilwoods.
Great suggestion CMoore. I’ll likely do just that. This is really easy to figure out... Find the OEM part# for the stock brake rotors and calipers for the 2015-2016 MY then see if GM indicates they are compatible with the 2017-2018 MY. If so, then there would be no reason for a fitment issue.
Brakes are very common low cost high margin replacement parts for GM to sell and make money on. In order to do that you keep material and tooling costs down. I would be highly surprised to see a change in the replacement brake parts between 2015-2016 and 2017-2018.
