My 2017 Yukon Denali has 27,000 mls and the factory 275/55/20 Continental tires seem to ride very harsh. I have adjusted pressures to 35 psi and the highway is not too bad but in town it is a log wagon. Rides like a 3/4 T pickup.

So I was thinking about the future and when it comes time for tires there seem to be a couple of brands that people talk about a lot. Bridgestone Duelers and Michelin Defender LTX M/S2. If price where not an issue, which tire provides the better ride along with good wet weather/Winter traction. We don't usually get a lot of snow, but rain and ice the usual issues.

Looking to improve the ride of the Yukon overall.

Thanks for the input.

Lots of existing threads on tire preferences here in the Forum.

If most of your driving is on paved surfaces, I'd recommend the Michelin Defenders (note that there are other folks here in the Forum who use and recommend other tires, as well), as they have worked great for me in all seasons here in NH.

Also, if you want a wider tire, you can most likely go with 305/50x20 tires on your truck.

I did search the forum before posting but many are looking for larger sizes (22+) or they are off roading or towing big loads.

Just looking to soften the Yukon Denali ride n also get good wet weather/light snow performance on paved surfaces.
If u look at reviews on the Defenders u will see folks that have had vibration issues with them . In the past, I have always had good luck with Michelin’s and do prefer the brand.
Thanks for ur reply.

To search on this Forum (the internal search tool leaves a lot to be desired) use a Google search with "tahoeyukonforum" as part of your search string words, and you will get reasonable results. As I've said, there are numerous threads on tire experiences and preferences in this Forum, and you will see folks specific comments and experiences relating primarily to these specific trucks.

The larger the tire, the more work needs to go into balancing them correctly. Many of the chain tire stores simply look at the balancing machine readings, slap on the weights, and do not even road test the vehicle to confirm tire balance effectiveness. That's not good enough.

My previous Yukon Denali was an 03 that had aluminum wheels and 17" tires.
It is quite amazing how much heavier the 22" tires are than the 17's. It is about all an old man can do to lift these 20" tire/wheels to reinstall them when rotating tires.

I just installed the Pirelli Scorpion tires on my Tahoe. The continentals were shot at 32k miles and dangerous in the rain. The ride for me wasn’t too bad but the new tires are great. Smooth, quiet and no complaints. Interesting tread design though
