Power sliding center console or a standard console? Which do you prefer?

I have the power console. Maybe it's a "grass is greener" thing, but I'd rather have the capacity increase with the fixed one. I think there are also more usb ports...
I only saw the sliding in the short body SLT I test drove, it had the captains chairs. I factory ordered my XL SLT but I opted for the 2nd row bench, so I don’t believe it’s an option. I like what I have (stationary) and it does have a good amount of space in there.

Gives you a couple different storage options, my wife likes space for purse. Also moving console back gives the back passengers closer access to the climate control and cup holders at back of the console.

Only downside is that when it’s back it reduces space for the dog if you have one

Also “secret compartment” drawer that is only accessible by moving console all the way back, it can indeed hold some of your valuable documents and items.
A full size Beretta 92FS with extra magazines will fit easily. That is if you don’t lose it in a “boating accident” lol

I have the power sliding console as well. Personally I think it's more of a gimmick and just something else to break.

We wanted a high country deluxe package with second row buckets and air ride, since we didn't special order it, we just kinda stumbled into this one with the power console because it had all the other stuff we wanted. Had I actually special ordered one, I would've preferred to have the standard console and standard running boards (vice the power folding running boards, because I think they're just another gimmick too).

I thought the sliding console was more a gimmick at first, but after having it I like it a lot. Most of the time it is just me and my Wife, so no issue with any second row riders. It opens up a perfect space for the Wife's purse. It also fits a grocery bag just fine. I definitely prefer it to the fixed console.

We use our sliding console frequently. We usually slide it back when we have our kids, or grandkids sitting in the back seats, it moves the cupholders closer to them. I have a safe for ours, unless I remove the holster for mine, it doesn't fit in the lower drawer, it does in the console safe. I wish the storage compartment was a bit deeper, but it wouldn't keep me from having the sliding console in the next one.
