wheel re-calibration?

I just put on some stock 20" wheels in place of my stock 17" wheels, but a couple people mentioned that I would have to bring it to the dealership to have it re-calibrated so the abs light doesn't come on. Does anyone know if that is really necessary? Or is it a myth to make more money from me? I have a 2010 Tahoe lt

Mmm, never heard of this.

I went from 18" to 24" and never had an abs issue or light.

But I'm interested to know if there's any truth to this.

yea I thought it was BS when a dealership first told me. Then a few months later I talked to a coworker of mine that had a tahoe as well and he mentioned the same thing to me, that's why I kind of believe it now, but not really.

The original dealership told me he can calibrate up to 22.5" rims and nothing bigger. so I'm not really sure what he was talking about, anybody know anything about this?

What are the diameters of the 2 tires? I haven't heard anything about ABS but your spedo and things related to that might be a little off. Best way to check is drive around with a GPS that tells you your speed and see if your spedo if different. Also, you do not have to take it to a dealership to fix it. Any wheel/tire shop can fix it probably cheaper. If no lights are on and speed is the same, I would worry about it.

No lights so far, only had them on for 1 day.

its a myth. You want to make sure if your spedo is correct, use a gps that has a spedo built in. ive had 20, 17 and 22 size rims, I used a gps and my spedo is perfect according to the gps.
