Wheel lights

Is anybody running wheel lights? I saw a post about low glows and it got me to wondering about putting lights in my wheels. If so, lets see some pictures. I found this website http://www.lightningwheel.com/ that sells them so you can get and idea of what I'm talking about.

I don't like that kit as much as the one I found...that one seems crappy. As far as being corny, it's just money...if it's dumb, that's what ebay is for!!!

Forget corny ... how about they're pretty much illegal everywhere if the vehicle is moving, and trust me, they'll notice.

You should look more into it, because you are mistaken.

There are very struck federal guidelines (dot/nhtsa), a state laws restricting the amount of light sources on a vehicle, their location, and color.

It's your money and your truck Michael, so of course do as you wish.

Red and blue flashing nepns are illigal. White is also a no go hecause only emergency vehicles can rock white flashing.... But yea check local laws for more info

haha...i'm not too worried about being "illegal", my truck is already "illegal" cause of my tint. the most they can do is tell me to turn em off, not like i'm trying to impersonate a cop or anything.

Indeed, and since you're also rocking hids in your reflectors and fogs in addition to your tint and wheel lights, you can look forward for at least three tickets when you get pulled over for the latter ... make sure you honk your train horn to show your local leo that too, they love those things.

actually, soulsea, the police around here don't care about the train horns. a few of em actually honk at me in their cruisers just to get me to honk back. i've grown up around law enforcement my whole life. you shouldn't be scared of the police. remember, they are people too. they like some of the same things even you or i like. oh, and hid's aren't illegal! yeah running them in reflector housings isn't the "correct" way to use the lights but it isn't illegal! i've been to court to for having them in my vehicle when i was younger. as long as you provide a box saying that they are DOT approved, they aren't illegal. just not using them in the "correct" fashion, but i'll continue to run them cause i'm not gonna pay $1000 for some projector lights from BFC. unless, it bothers you so much that you wanna pay for them. in that case, i'd like white housings.

I'm not particularly concerned, but you started a thread on wheel lights and I gave you my take.

All I told you is that they are illegal, just like your tint and HIDs (on the legality of which you are also misinformed, and by the way, retrofits like mine are equally illegal, they're just less annoying to oncoming traffic) ... I never even said you shouldn't run them, just tried to inform you of the facts so you decide accordingly.

So yeah, I have illegal things on my ride (including front tint) and so do you ... not sure why me noting that you're adding one more thing made you snippy.

From experience, I had a 7 color LED underbody (not wheel lights) for exactly 3 years and got pulled over for them once because I put them in hyper-flash mode. I did not get a ticket though.
I did take them off because I thought they were corny after having them for 2 years. I got them when I was 18 and did not know any better. The interior kit is still in though.
I don't have many pics of them though.
