Okay I got my vette servo today and according to the write ups I need to rub a little fluid on the parts so bare metal doesn't touch bare metal, but where do I get some? Do I have to go buy some from auto zone or something?

any quick answers would be greatly appreciated, then i might start on this tonight

i`ve been thinking about getting a servo for my yukon but i was wondering if i put one in how hard it would shift? when i got my blackbear tune justin maxed out my transmissions line pressure and it now has nice firm shifts. i just wanted to ask if anyone has both a bb tune and a servo and how hard the shifts are with both.

The 'Vette servo will only firm up the 1-2 shift. It won't make it bang, just a real good firm shift. Best bang for the buck mod out there. You should be able to buy the servo and both o-rings for under twenty bucks.

I have the 'Vette servo and BB tune, had the servo before the tune so it was tuned for the servo. If you put a 'Vette servo in it after the tune I think you would want to get a re-tune. Email Justin and ask him. He's real helpful.

I'll let someone else comment on the 4th gear servo, I have talked to some people who installed it also, but I'm not 100% on if its worth it or not. As far as putting some oil on the servo before install, run up to atozone and grab some trans fluid to add

Thanks for the responses guys! As for the 4th gear billot servo, there seems to be nothing but positive comments about it over at performance trucks

Got the Superior Transmission super servo set, both 2nd gear and 4th gear apply with the cover. It was the best $110 part I've installed, took the laptop to it and turned the pressures down at part throttle so that 1-2 doesn't slam around town. But on WOT the belt screeches and the tires chirp on the 1-2 then the belt screeches again on the 2-3. Makes the vette servo look squishy. There is positive up and downshifting to all gears. Can't say enough good about it.

I like the smooth shifts in my 'Kon...but yeah they are slooooow shifts. What do you guys mean when you say "Firmer Shifts" Does it get me to go 0-60mph faster?

the smooth shift you refer to, is actually slippage...slippage is heat on clutch packs, which is bad for tranny.
Firm, firms up the speed and intensity of the shift, less slippage.

ok i have a question that can hopefully be answered today

i have a sonnax 4th gear super hold servo that says it can be installed with the corvette servo

it says to change the servo pin or grind the tip of it to achieve desired pin travel
"typically .125" "

do i seriously, literally put on it on my grinder until its an 1/8 of an inch shorter? that just scares me

doesnt the vette servo only firm up the 1-2 shift... IIRC it doesnt do a thing for the 2-3 or 3-4 shifts.

Seems like everyone is using an aftermarket vette servo part.....is it cheaper than the OEM vette servo?

Built the same or better?

Thanks
