Transfer re-case checklist

Rear housing on my t-case is cracked. Holding for now, but I'd like to fix it over thanksgiving. Need a sanity check / suggestions on parts


Rear case

New bolts/cup washers

Input shaft seal

Rear driveshaft seal

Front driveshaft seal

Transmission output shaft seal

Something to preemptively stop pump rub (suggestions?)

Anything else? Common failures / while I'm in there stuff / etc?

I understand the magnesium casing is better if that is in the budget

It's what's on there right now and what I intend to replace it with. I'm entirely not familiar nor confident enough with my metallurgy to make any changes

This is the anti-pump rub plate manuf by merchant auto that everybody talks about. It's pretty much the standard upgrade by which all of the lower end/cheaper units are compared.

The magnesium case is the bad part.

about $845 with exchange and includes the HD aluminum rear and should also have fiexes in for pump rub. Give them a call.
