*DISREGARD Dbl post*
Ok, about to go buy some factory 18's from a '07 Z71 right now. I'm going to get new tires so I just wanted to see what everyone thought of the tire size.
Factory comes with 265/65R18. I've read on the Z71 forum that you can fit 275/65R18 no problem. So I'm thinking if I step down to a 275/60R18 it should be fine. Thoughts?
The reason for this is the PPV Tahoe comes with 265/60R17's (29.5X10.4). Factory regular for 17's & 18's is 31.6x10.4 The 275/60R18 is 31X10.8 so it's a hair wider and a hair shorter. The reason for the shorter tire is 2 fold.
1, it does help lower the truck a tiny bit thus making it a tiny bit more stable, easier to get in/out of (for the wifey) etc. 2, speedometer is a hair fast so if my speedometer shows I'm going 5 over, I'm actually only going 4.
