Tinted passenger mirror

Have an OBS 2000 Tahoe Z71 (GMT400) with <1999 model year design and the passenger door heated mirror is tinted at all times day and night. Is this normal? Can it be fixed/changed? Should I just buy and install a new mirror?

Those are oil filled for heater. Your choice what you do. I'm curious what you replace it with. Post updates.

Interesting. Its pretty hard to see backing up on the right side of the truck. I bought the Dorman heated mirror on Amazon for $51.
