Thoughts on 25 Yukon Denali giant screen?

I was at the Dealer yesterday for service on our 2022 Denali. I looked at the screens on the new Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia, Yukon Denali, and the Hummers. I like the Buick the least but from the position of sitting in the Driver's seat you can see everything pretty well. I thought I would not like the Acadia and Yukon screens but again, from the Driver's seat they are pretty good. The Hummer I do not like, especially at that price point. Overall I do prefer the look of our 2022 Denali layout. The new Acadia and Denali screens would not be a deal breaker for me if I was in the market for a new vehicle.

Interesting take. I have a pair of 23's and really enjoy the layout and look. We plan to keep these rides for a couple of more years but I wouldnt hesitate to move to a Tahoe or Suburban due to the "better" layout. The large screen would be a key factor in note buying a new Yukon. Maybe it will grow on me, you never know.

I can echo the same thoughts, specifically about the new Tahoe/Suburban. I stopped by our local dealer to have a look. That new center infotainment cluster is executed very well. Did not have a chance to look at the Yukon since they didn't have any on their lot yet.

I saw the leaked photos and quickly ordered my 2024. I like that there's still some physical buttons for the critical functions. I don't like going through different menus and drop down to adjust the temp, drive modes etc.

You don’t have to do that, there’s a physical button for temp and fan speed.

Coming out of a 24 not liking the new screen so far. It's a drastic change perhaps too drastic. Also, trying to set up the DIC with a format that I prefer is proving to be really challenging. I miss the scroll button that the previous models had. I'm not a tech wiz but can usually get through things like this but read the manual section for this several times. Menu change button is dual purpose and keeps changing the radio station.

A bit off topic, but one thing that I do like on the 2025’s is the thicker steering wheel. Wondering if it’ll be possible to swap it over into my 2022.

I am wondering about the dash screen and if it has a lot of reflection. Its not set back into the dash as much as before.

It must be anti-glare as I haven't had a problem with glare and a lot easier to wipe off as it is all flat compared to the 24 I had. Still cant program the DIC heading to dealer next week maybe they can help. My right side exhaust pipes are twisted to the right hoping it's a isolated problem not a mfg issue.

I finally sat in a 25…and I couldn’t wait to get out of the thing. That center screen is HUGE…but from the driver’s seat position, it’s kind of like watching a TV set that is completely off-axis from the direction you’re looking. The stupid thing isn’t even canted towards the driver like the center screen display in my wife’s Volvo XC90.

And to see the right half of the Yukon screen, you essentially need to take your eyes completely off the road and crane your entire head more than halfway to the far right side of the dash. Really disappointed because I love my 2017 Denali and was planning to replace it with a newer one, but not anymore. The dealership had a 24 Escalade with the curved wraparound cockpit screen, and I loved it. An ergonomic dream. And now the Escalade is my game plan.

Question though - has anyone figured out how to change the Map view from the standard ‘North-up’ to the much more appropriate and logical ‘track-up?’

When in Nav or Google Map view the whole screen is utilized which is a large map good or bad comes down to personal preference. When in radio mode only the top portion of the screen is utilized which is very similar in size to what I had in the 2024.
The lack of customizable functions for the DIC is frustrating considering in pre 2025 you could move everything around with the scroll dial on the steering wheel which is gone now.

Completely agree! I’m on an emergency business trip and as luck would have it, Avis put me in an Escalade. It really struck me tonight driving it over to the hotel from the airport that a big thing I like about it is that I’m very left-hand, left eye dominant. Having that giant interface all to my right (versus the wraparound in the Caddy) feels very unnatural and awkward to me, especially as the guy with the lefty computer mouse and the need to always sit at the end of the table at restaurants so I don’t elbow the person next to me!

I finally had some seat time in the 2025 Denali, I really like the screen, looks good and seems to function great.

The one thing I am not sure about is the new shifter....I don't really like how it functions. The buttons were much easier.

I like the pickup's dash better. At least with the '25 interior, we have a column shifter (electric) again and not those buttons.

I wasn’t impressed with some aspects of the new Denali dash. Specifically, I found the plastic around the gauge cluster to look cheap, and I didn’t like the height or placement of the new screen. The dashboard overall felt too high and the sightlines were worse compared to my Tahoe. The screen itself was responsive with clear resolution.
Additionally, I don’t think the design is well-integrated from gauge cluster to media center; to me, it looks like it was rushed. Because I want SC, I decided to take an open allocation on a 2025 Escalade, on order. That's how I voted.

I have been in a '25 Ultimate for a few weeks now and love the big screen. While in navigation, I like having the next instruction in the HUD, the active view map in the main dash, and the trip view in the center screen. I initially preferred the design of the Tahoe/Suburban but spending time with this has won me over. If I had purchased a Chevy, I think I would have been happy with that as well. I also like the new Yukon shifter as it reminds me a bit of the old school automatics pulling towards you then down to drive or up to reverse. A bit nostalgic.

I am very happy they kept buttons for volume and a/c. The volume has a cool animation that appears outside the button on the screen as you turn it up/down showing you where you are in the range.

I am not trying to convince anyone here or preaching, just sharing my experience.
