Those with 24's

I was just wondering for those that upgraded to 24's, how big of a hit did it make on gas mileage? On my 2010 Escalade, I was getting about 17mpg when I first got it, and put on the 24 inch factory replicas I started to get 13mpg. I was wondering what those with the new body were getting. I'm getting 17-18 mpg right now in my 2017 and was thinking about getting 24's again.

Probably just the taller tire throwing your computer off and it thinks it's traveling a shorter distance. Needs to be programmed for new tire size.

That's what happened when I went from 17's to 20's. Once programmed ECU it was fine.

I’m pretty sure it gets worse gas mileage hence people by light weight racing wheels Which will make the car quicker Bc there’s less weight to spin

The dub 24s I just put on our 14 Denali are about 20lbs heavier than stock. Same height as factory. Mpg hovering at 16 still.

20 lbs. Heavier per wheel? Also, 20lbs. heavier than stock what? stock 22's?

I only ask because I find this number a bit high if compared to stock 22's. A lot of the stock 22's with 285/45/22 tires are coming in at 88-93 lbs. per wheel. Some of the Dub Wheels in 24" x 10" are around 41-45lbs. per rim, with 24" tire options weighing 45-48 lbs. per tire, putting some of the 24" rim/tire combos only a couple lbs. heavier than stock 22's and in some cases a couple lbs. lighter depending on the exact combination.

Now if you're comparing this to stock 20" wheels then I can maybe see why such a weight difference, that and if the style of 24" rims you have has extensive spokes and is more "decorative" and/or chrome that would mean it was more of a heavier style 24" wheel.

Yes, I didn’t think about stock 22s. We had the 20” wheels oem. It was like 17 ish I think when I added it up exactly. That’s new tires that are a little wider than stock. I just rounded up on the weight. They are the dub royalty. a06094002780c5c6280b7e5852f2848f.jpg

Gotcha. Yeah compared to OEM 20’s it would be every bit of a 17-20 lb. increase per wheel.

Nice looking rims!

I checked with Factory replica's and the replica of my Escalade wheels are 40 lbs. The 24 inch Dub Push is 49 lbs. So 9lbs per rim, as far as tires, I'm not sure what that will add. I get 18mpg in my esky (2017) now, my previous esky (2010) one with 24 inch replica's which I would guess is 100lbs per corner, was getting 12-13mpg
