I'll be mounting some 24" x 10" wheels on my '15 Yukon XL Denali here in a couple months and have been researching 24" tires in my spare time and looking to see what will suit me best.

My '15 Yukon XL Denali is my daily driver and is driven year round here in Ohio and throughout the mid-west and east coast, the 24's will be on the truck year round as well, so I'm in search of the best all-season all-weather tires I can get. I realize with all-season tires they typically perform well in a lot of categories, but not extremely exceptional in just one category so there are trade-offs. Looking for a tire that has good performance in the rain, can handle some light snow, that isn't noisy, with a decent speed rating, and rides well.

I've had experience on my previous DD (a Trailblazer SS) with Toyo Proxes ST-II's and Nitto 420S, but in a 20" variety. Would buy the Proxes ST-II's over the 420S any day. Both of those model tires are offered in 305/35/24 sizes; but beyond Nexen (Rodian HP), Nitto (420S or Terra Grapplers), Pirelli (Scorpion Zero Assimetrico), Toyo (Proxes), and Yokohama (Parada Spec-X) the remaining tire brands and options start to become foreign to me. I'm definitely not opposed to trying a brand of tires I've never heard of before (the Vercelli Strada 4 seems to have good reviews, just not many) and am open to any tire brand/model not listed here.

Looking to hear any and all feedback from those with 24's riding on either a 295/35/24 or 305/35/24.

What brand/model 24" tires have you had good or bad experiences with?
If you live in an area that gets any snow/ice any experience with your 24" tires in any snowy winter weather and how'd they perform?
How was road noise?
Smooth ride?

I've searched and searched on this forum, there are sporadic threads of people giving some feedback on various 24" tires in different topics in various places of the forum, I'm just looking for some first hand experience for those riding on 24's. Usually I just do my research and make my own decision, but since this is my first full-size SUV and the first set of 24" tires I'll be buying I'm hoping I can lean on this forum as the great resource it has proven to be in a lot of other areas.

So post up, any and all feedback welcome; Appreciate any insight and information I can get.

I have lexani tires and I'm looking to upgrade to a better quality tire for my 24's. Live near St. Louis and the first experience in snow last year was not pleasant.

I just ordered 285/40r24 Toyo Proxes ST3. I'm told these ride much better than any other 24" tire on the market. They should be in today. Some have said they will rub very little and some said they wouldn't rub at all.

Thanks for the replies. I wont be going with the Nitto NT420S just due to my own previous experience. I was looking at the Toyo Proxes ST-III's, they're a relatively new model tire. They have a W speed rating which is a bit overkill, come with 10/32" tread depth new compared to 11/32" tread depth of Proxes ST and Proxes ST-II, that and they have a 500 treadwear rating compared to 420 so I think the rubber would be slightly harder than the ST and ST-II. For all those reasons I was leaning more towards the Proxes ST-II, but online it seems some vendors report that tire is getting discontinued, and they're no longer listed on Toyo's official site. You can still find them in stock at places as I think them being discontinued is a recent thing.

Anyone else have year round experience with any other 24" tires?

In order to keep a smooth stock type ride, you will need some meat on them tires. I was opting to go with a 295/35/24 tire for a lower profile, but ended up with a 305/35/24 which is nice and smooth unless your on a rough patch of road.
Also lowered it with a 2”/4”
lowering kit from Crown Suspension.

Keep in mind that tread wear ratings aren't consistent across different brands. Every tire manufacturer can and does develop their own rating method. They're required to rate tread wear. But they're not held to a standardized test method.

I run 24’s on my 07, Atturo Az800 295/40r24 great tires and cheap as dirt.
200$ each if you live in the USA. Good overall tires for the buck IMO

I run 305/35/24 Nexen Roadians on my 2010 Escalade, my first two sets were great, my third set seemed to either not balance well, or gets "flat spots" where it isn't perfectly smooth first thing in the morning after sitting for a day or so, but smooths out over about 2-3 miles.

Overall, I was happy with them, they don't last very long, but then again I drive VERY hard, and VERY hard turns.

Best tire I have found for balance and ride is 305/35/24 OHTSU. They are made by Falken and half price what the Falkens cost. They are around $600 shipped for a set on ebay. I have had Lexani, Nexen, Triangle and OHTSU's are the best. Lexani's are the biggest pile of crap tire i have ran to date. I had a brand new set that would not balance out for anything. Had some 22" Nitto 420's and they roar loader than any all terrain tire lol.

@YukonandtheHOE

I'm considering buying these, just wondering if there's any rubbing? (Stock height)

Thanks in advance and sorry for bringing up this old thread but I could sure use the advice.

I ran Toyo Proxes ST2 in 20 and 24inch and loved them. Replaced the stock Continentals on my Range Rover Sport with them.

I upgraded from lexani to nexen and they ride better. I will selling my 24s soon and going to a 22 for better tire choices.
