I’ve never really thought about them because most everywhere I go overlanding is desert and dry.
And wow was I glad I did not bring thecopcar. Just a little rain here today and the two track was slick as oil. Jeebus! Plus a couple of what turned out to be deep bogs. I was glad for 4lo and clearance.
I wouldn't have mentioned them until I saw the mud slung up on your trailer you worked so *******. You can make mini flaps for the trailer too if you need them.

Yesterday I gave it a trendy mud spa treatment. Today I’m trying to see if sunblock works.

Gas is 3.93 a gallon, and gas in the next town is 3.53. It’s 23 miles, and the truck says we have 50 mile range. It’s 102 outside, we’re towing, and the AC is running. Hit it.

I want to go see the white sands NP at some point. Thanks for sharing pics. Maine is my favorite place, but I love the desert. Nothing like the wide openness.

New boots for thethirdtwin, including a real spare. XD of course has discontinued the wheel, so I found a sorta similar one from Vision.
The original spare has never been on the ground and is 8 years old. I’m sure it would have done just fine limping 20 miles back to pavement from the boondocks.

The teardrop is actually at an angle to make it easier to extract, so there’s a bit more door space at the front. But no way I can get my dog out of the back.

Roof rack bars for thethirdtwin. Some assembly required. The t-nut channel was an unexpected bonus. That could be handy for some overland gear.

Set the crossbars in place to check desired spacing. At least there will be a spot for muddy boards. I’ll have to respace for the kayak. I may use them for a flat rack too.

I have no immediate plans for these, but ditch light brackets are hard to come by for tahoes. I searched for a year to get ‘em for thecopcar.

Finally got the chance to deploy the Crime Scene Awning (tm) on thecopcar in the field. Also did the teardrop.
