Holy sh*t, did you see that? Indestructible body, 0-60 in 2.9 seconds, faster than most Ferrari’s, 500 mile range.

It towed that Ford F-150 backwards, uphill like the Ford was a toy. I predict their next iteration will include a 3rd row and enclosed back to compete with Suburban, eventually.

Just don't count on the unbreakable windows since they all broke in the live test!

Mike--Hamilton Chevy

That’s true but that is how bullet proof glass reacts. Any other car, the window would have shattered and blown out completely. With that Tesla, the metal ball bounced back, and only created “bullet proof like” indentations. The rest of the glass remained intact. Pretty incredible

It’s nice to see the designers of the Pontiac Aztec finally found work

Yeah, that thing is ugly, saw it on TFL Truck this morning. Reveal was all decked out like a rave, so nobody would remember how awful it looks.

We all know electric motors can outperform a conventional powertrain for a time anyway. Let's see how far that pickup can tow a 7,500 trailer over the Eisenhower Tunnel and how long it takes them to travel 1,000 miles versus a 2020 Chevy 1500 pickup with the same trailer. My guess is that the family in the Chevy will be at their campsite for three days before the poor saps in the Tesla show up.

I loved seeing that indestructible body, and pretty strong glass; exactly what you need for a Mars rover. BUT, how would that perform in a crash with real people inside? There is no crumple zone! The glass is not safety glass that breaks apart. Thats what I was thinking about...

I’m sure they’ve thought of it, but those are the details that I want to know.

They made it so damn ugly on purpose..... free press. If it was a nice/normal looking truck itd have a fraction of the attention it's getting, and would be "just another electric vehicle"

ehh you'll just burn alive inside with the battery fire that can't be put out with water, just buy good insurance so the loved ones that weren't trapped inside with you will be taken care of.

cool that it has range and apparently has a towing capacity to some degree. With that said, the ugly by far outweighs any positive it could ever have. :puke:

still looks better then the pontiac aztek.. should have at lest put a 5.3L LS4 FWD

the glass is just laminated glass which has been on newer cars for a while so stupid people who roll over their SUV don't get ejected cuz they don't know how to drive

Just no range while towing!

Tesla X uses 17% of its battery charge to do the Ike Gauntlet in 8 miles:

Check out Part 1 on level ground too.

So I reckon that folks in these things would have to make a day of it to cross the Eisenhower Tunnel and hang out in the travel trailer while the EV charges all day. A few hours on the road and a 1/2 day of charging...

yeah, that'd be no bueno for sure. Gotta have range whether loaded or unloaded. Can't be in the middle of the job and then have to stop to recharge your battery. It's hard to do manly stuff when you gotta charge your batteries part way through said manly stuff LOL :Sumo:

I did LOL when I saw it tow that F150, backwards, uphill.

I read they wanted it to look like the stealth bomber. It kind of does, not sure if that’s good or bad...definitely different (I’m being polite).

Everyone complains that everything looks the same and when someone does something different everyone crushes them.

That said, the fundamental function of a pickup is practicality and functionality, this has neither.

I'm still unconvinced that this isn't a troll job to get publicity and that the real truck will be revealed down the line with the same underpinnings and impressive specs but a more realistic design.

ya I like that it's different but certainly not what I envisioned from blade runner
another part of being "different" is it's going to cost you a buttload to have it worked on and get parts even if it is cheap out the gate, I have read that getting a Tesla repaired takes a extended period of downtime for parts to arrive and to have it fixed by a tesla technician
