Hello
I want to talk about Tahoe SSV 4wd tow ratings.

I found GM PDF docs that say the 2013 & 2014 Tahoe 4x4 SSV have a tow rating of 8200 lbs. I can't find a lot of those so I started to look at newer Tahoes.

I found in a GM Fleet doc the 2015, 2016, & 2017 Tahoe 9C1 SSV 4wd can tow up to MAX of 4000 lbs. Boo Hoo!

2018 Tahoe 9C1 SSV 4wd has a base tow rating of 6400 lbs & with NHT "Max Trailering Package" can tow 8400 lbs.

So for 3 years the tow rating went in the toilet!
Can anyone confirm my numbers? Did I read the guides correctly?

I was getting my information from here:
https://www.gmupfitter.com/files/media/photo/457/2014_Police_Technical_Guide_FINAL.pdf

(page 90 of 147) or (page 20 of the "Tahoe 4wd Special Service 5w4" section)
Near the bottom right it says 8200 lbs for max trailer weight.

I wonder why they disagree? Any thoughts on which one is correct?
It may depend on the rear axle gearing - the lower axle gears are rated a couple hundred pounds heavier than the 3.08 trucks. Also it seems the 2wd are rated a little higher than the 4x4s.
