My Yukon with a 5.3L has started to have a squeak or squeal almost sounds like a chipmunk directly after I shut the engine down. Is this just normal cooling down of the internal parts or is it something more serious? Cannot seem to find exactly where it's coming from but it is definitely forward of the passenger seat. Any help is appreciated.

Is that sound occurring AFTER the motor has completely stopped turning?

Could be the interior blower motor bearings starting to go out. With 12v power applied, the rpm’s stay up. When the vehicle shuts down, the blower motor spins down and it could be the blower motor bearings are squealing.

Or a loose belt, the engine stops and the alternator wants to keep spinning, causing the belt to squeal.
