Correct me if im wrong but i believe for it to be a lemon you have to have the same problem fixed 3 times, i dont know where i heard or read that, but i believe thats the case.

depends on the state. the law ranges from either mult attempts to fix the same problem, certain number of repairs in general, total time spent in the shop for any repairs, OR amount of time spent on 1 specific repair. I did this in florida for mine several years back and it was time consuming but GM paid for it.

First, Sorry RT, I mis-read. You go with your Mustang! :hands: This is why there are more than one company and one car. Sorry to pinch a nerve

Second, Gone Gone Gone. Yukon go bu-by. Sadly this is strike three on American trucks for me. No no, not American, GM. I'm done. First one check engine light on at 30K, could never fix it. Second, Hummer was sold and the value went to shit just after I sold mine, thank god. Than this pile. Complete tranny reseal at 500 miles, rear main seal at 9,300 miles, and seepage from bell housing, oil low, and rear axle coated at 9350 miles.

I know it's under warranty but really? Replaced much to the dismay of loyal GM owners with a Toyota. Done and done. So I will be envying the looks of the hoes and kons, but won't have to worry about my assigned spot at the dealer. :Handshake:

Edit: OH, and I looked at my paperwork, I paid $32K for mine new, I traded it today for $30K plus $2500 back on vehicle tax. I made $500! Yay for me!

traded it for what? Just curious. Gm is dead to me too. As soon as the silverado is sold a ford f150 raptor will replace it. WENT to the dealer today and was in shock and awe over it. Mustang will have to wait until next fall.

I traded it for what I know. I went with a 4Runner. Obviously, not as 'pimp' and smaller, but I tend to like the smaller rides to be honest. I can't do a truck right now with the seven month old. And I had to meet wifeypoo half way. So, it's got the 4.7 V8 and it's 4WD. Probably not the apple of everyone's eye here. I'll miss some of the aspects of the Yukon for sure, but after reading this article, I'm good with my choice. I'd like to one day get a quad cab Ford. I really dig the way both the interior and exterior look. It's too bad though, I wanted to own the GM for a while. I have zero patience with 'major' car issues at 9,300 miles.

DUDE, should have waited for the new 10' model!!!!!

also while I dont think the problems you had were all that major. I am glad to see these yukons hold their value well over time. Mine has just over 40k ON it and I bought a bumper to bumper till 100k. When I hit that If I like the 2011 yukon I may get that. Or a 2011 Lincoln Navigator.

Haha! I got a sneak peek at one. On the fence really. It's pretty nice, but not sure. Dealer had one hiding in a trailer out back. I didn't see the V8 option either. 260HP and 7,000 towing capacity is what mine has.

If anyone cares, I listed a weathertech cargo liner, a consol organizer, and a rear black hitch close out in the classifieds on here. If you are interested PM me, I'm flexible. I'd rather someone enjoy this stuff rather than collect dust if you know what I mean.

the 10 does not have a v-8 option for some reason. But the v6 puts out more power.

Sorry to hear all the problems you have had but yea...look into lemon law.
My 2008 XL @ 10,500 has been trouble free.:rocking:

As far as GM is concerned I don't understand the financial problems (other than mis-management)
On Long Island here I see soooooooooooo many Esky's, Yukons,XL,Tahoe and Suburbans. My 10 house block alone has 3 GM Suv's. They are being scoffed up so the reliability is not a concern. My job has 12 Tahoes and having very little problems with them. They are run hard also.
All these suvs including Esky's run the gamut as far as skin color.:hands:

Thought id jump in,

Im glad you got rid of it, all those problems were happening way too fast, seemed to be a bad one out of the bunch. I would have called lemon law and tried to figure something out but o well. When we got out whaler it was brand new and the day it was shipped the gas tank was leaking, 2 months later power steering went 10 miles out, next month power steering again, 3 months later we lost power to everything. We called the factory and they offered to have a brand new one made but it would take almost a year. We kept the boat and had everything replaced over the winter and the whole boat repainted. The boat runs great now but it was alot of work. Boston whaler makes great boats but that was just a bad one i guess.

Every manufacturer has their lemons. Out of warranty you don't want an import though. Good luck even finding parts in one day.

People tend to judge people by the type of vehicle they drive. It doesn't matter what you drive. Since most of us are pretty much owners of a full size SUV, we have our share of critics. It doesn't matter what full size SUV you are driving. I also have a 2008 Corvette and hear plenty of comments, most refer to gas mileage. Too bad they didn't realize that I can average 28-32 mpg cruising at 70-80mph which beats 90% of the critics that I met.

I never cared much for Japanese cars also. Not because they are not good cars, I just don't like Japan's trade policies. A lot of their cars look a lot like each other. At least an Audi looks like an Audi, you can't mistake a Jag or Mercedes.

As far as GM goes they had severe management problems that will take years to fix. Ford has made some good cars but severely underpowered with a few of them (current Navigator is one example). In England they joke that all the soccer players have either a Navigator, Escalade, Hummer or Range Rover. Over here people tend to relate them to drug dealers or mall cruisers, no where in between.

I am on new GM SUV #3 in the last year and a half (2008 Buick Enclave, 2009 Enclave both lemons and now my 07' Denali).....and this one is in the shop as I type. Bought this one thinking that it had a few miles on it so it had the kinks worked out of it, yeah right. I work on the road and can not leave my wife and 2 kids at home with a vehicle that is going to be un-reliable. She has had to take my toy (2002 Mustang GT convertible) several times with the F'd up Buicks. I have been a GM person for 20 years, and I am done. I will be going to an Expedition EL or a Navigator next time. Just bought a Camry for a work car and the big Toyota SUV is not bad and the price was about what a Denali is.

But Im done as well I love my yukon, Its been wonderful, But when it hits 100k, It will be a navigator. My silverado is almost at 100k now and I cant wait to get out of it, I see a ford f250 or f350 in my future. IM not done with american cars, just government motors.

God, I wouldnt touch a Navigator... M-I-L has An Expi and it is crap. Better 'fitment' and 'feel' but worse materials, and the electrics and powertrain are a compete joke.
Hoes been good, problems known and home repairable, especially if you have a soldering iron, an airchisel, and a good impact. (cluster, front hubs, parking brake)
