Just a quick question as i start round 2 of my LED swap, How exactly does the rear roof mounted HVAC control come out? In the front there are 2 clips which came out no problem, but on the rear (the side with the controls) It seems screwed in. I can't really get a light in there to see well. Does anybody have any experience here?

hmm... my 18" knocked mine out I'll get some pictures tomorrow behind it for ya :)
IIRC I use a flathead on both sides and it popped off.. typical chevy its only meant to come out once before the tabs start becoming brittle.

....wait..
you don't need to take that out to put in LED's there is a clear cover over the lights that pops out

Oh awesome, you didn't even need to pull the whole box down. Do you know if the front overhead hvac comes out the same way?

both the front and the rear my sub snapped out you can see in the second picture the bottom right tab is broken off not even there.. they are tiny so I can see why.

the front is way easier to deal with because you just take one screw off towards the windshield and there are clips by the map lights.

the rear is different.. there are clips closest to the windshield and then torx underneath the HVAC so you have to take it out but like I said just pry it out

or get an 18 on 1k watts and slam the shit out of it :D

the first time I took it out I used the flat head, then siliconed the housing so it wouldn't rattle

didn't see this in time, but yeah you can just pry it out. same with the rear seat audio controls behind the console. just need to use a small thin screwdriver.
