How many of us have a lead foot and need a radar dectector in our 6000lb, slow ass trucks :banghead:

I have a Built-in K40 Radar/Laser Diffuser and it has saved my ass more times than I can count

What systems are you guys running?

****** 9500i, but my little girl seems to work better than the radar detector most of the time. I don't speed when I have my family with me, but we'll be driving around and she'll say "Policeman, daddy".
"Huh? Where?"
A couple seconds later my radar starts going crazy.

Then a few months ago we were on the way to Corpus and I got pulled over. This damn radar detector did not go off until the trooper walked up to the car and asked for my dl and registration. WTF?
So a couple months later I'm on my way to the courthouse to pay that ticket, and on my way there, I get another ticket. So I just threw that crap detector in the trash and haven't had another radar detector since.

i have a cobra, i cant remember the model # but it has a blue digital display with compass and voltage meter, it has saved me numerous times and always seems to catch any type of radar/laser the police try to throw at me way in advance...pretty impressed for a $150 from walmart lol

This is what I have and I is amazing, worth the money :imo:

Completely built in so the only way you know I have it is if it goes off! Blocks laser which is probally why your radar didn't go off, and picks up radar and tells you where its coming from......Great Unit and I'll never own a vehicle without one! :Handshake:

Running nothing except the eyes of my wife and I. Then again I usually go no faster than 5-10 mph over the speed limit. Plus I got my little 2yr old girl in the back, so my speeding days are a forgotten memory.

I'm running the ****** 9500ix hardwired with the external control mounted into the cubby next to the cig. lighter. I am not sure why it doesn't work good for you JK, It works for me all the time and saved me from large tickets (I usually go 90-105MPH on highway) and it even saved me when I was maxing out my Hoe at 111MPH (I will upload a pic of my GPS max speed reading as proof later tonight)

Well, its a Garmin and just saves the "max speed"
That was with 3 passengers (All 200-250 Pounds each and a full tank of gas)

So if my math is correct:

4 People = 900ish pounds
2 Alpine Type R in box: 45.2 pounds
full tank of gas: (26.0 gal tank @ 6ish lbs a gallon) use 24.5 gallons because I used some driving: 147lbs

Total additional weight in Tahoe: 1092 pounds

Here it is as proof:

I was at my local audio shop and there was a guy who travels from NC or SC to GA all the time and he had some deal where it let him know he about the radar, where it was at. He could hit a button that would i guess block (jam) the laser and not show the cop a speed. The guys said it was a pricey unit but had me thinking. Is this what you have blackdenali?

Love that K40 Black, I am looking into getting one...but I think I'm getting the new Viper 5902 first. For now I am loving my Valentine 1, the arrows are great...

I don't understand how a radar "blocker" would be effective. Cops generally only gun people who look like they are speeding. If a cop thinks you are speeding and guns you and receives no speed on the gun, wouldn't they think something suspicious is going on? I understand they can't pull you over for suspicion, however I wouldn't be surprised if they made guns to block a radar blocker in the future if they become more common.

I don't see them becoming common as they require professional installation and are all over $500 range for years now. They do provide another layer of protection due to the cop unable to secure a radar reading on your car and makes it easier to fight the ticket
