If a nav system is 'bose equipped' (ie. the bose icon shows up on the start-up screen), will it work properly in a Tahoe w/o the bose system?

Thanks in advance for responses.

It may need a re-programming to load non-Bose nav software on it, but it should. Though, I have heard that non-Bose owners MUST buy the corresponding "rare" non-Bose navigation system. So I dunno.

Thanks for the info Zach. I've never seen a non-bose system. I would think that any trim level that GM made that included a nav system would already have the bose upgrade...if that makes any sense. Maybe a better way to say it would be that a bose upgrade would preceed a navigation upgrade when building the cars. Therefore a non-bose system would not be needed...

I don't know...just a thought.

NO....it will not. It will have fixed volume at a low level. There are non-Bose NAV radios but they are rare. Please check out several other threads on this same subject abd save your money unless you are willing to install an after market amp.
