so hopefully i dont get to flamed for this,

everyone knows that chrome rims dont last for ever, or even as long as alot of other non-chrome rims. so even though i have awhile left with mine, im wondering about what i wanna do when its time for the rims to go off.

I was looking at black kmc 24 MAYBE 22 (if they even make them) slides. im also gonna remove all of the chrome on my car and replace that with black.BUT what i was wondering is has anyone seen a 07-09 tahoe with 24's and like a 2" inch lift? i feel like it could come out really bad or really cool looking. let me know

thanks alot in advance for any help

A 22 on a 33 would look pretty sweet. Theres a red NNBS tahoe on here thats running that combo i think.

It would look good I think. Nitto makes a AT tire (Terra Grappler) that can run a 24" or 22" rim. There are a couple on here with a small lift and 22's. I want to say his name is "Victory is Mine." His is bright red with black 22's and a 2.5" lift and 1" in the rear. Also, Nola has a dope black Tahoe with 24's and Terra Grapplers that looks good. Not sure if he has a lift though. But his Tahoe is dope.

I personally think a Tahoe would look sweet with a ReadyLift or CCM spacer lift with 24's and Terra Grapplers.

i personally think a 22 inch wheel and 33 inch tire would look like kinda funny. The smallest tire i would run with a 22 inch wheel is a 35 inch tire. As far a 24s i wouldnt run anything smaller than a 37 inch tire with a lift. But if you want you could buy 26 inch wheels and the tire size is like a 33.2 diameter.

thanks for all the positive feedback guys, so what do you think about 24 inch slides on 37 inch grapplers? i dont want something that looks too off roady if you know what i mean. im defintely gonna remove all the chrome on my car once i do end up doing this mod, even though the more i talk about it the faster i wanna get it done.

** my other question though, how much of a lift would i need (car isnt leveled so it will prolly be a different # in front vs back) to be in the clear for rubbing? i mean if they rub a tiny bit i can bang out the fenders with a mallet but i dont want it to rub much.

If you're not wanting to look too "off-roady" I don't think you're going to accomplish that with 37" grapplers...not exactly going to look like a street truck with tires that big, but I say go for it if you're wanting a lifted truck. You're not going to be able to fit those tires with just a leveling kit like i have though. You'll be looking at a full suspension lift at least.

I know for the guys who are into the off-road look/scene, 33" tires on 22's catch a fair amount of scrutiny, but I've been happy with mine and they have plenty of sidewall for a great ride on and off road. I would have loved to run 35's like Big Blue mentioned, but I would have had to install a suspension lift and didn't want to go that route on this particular ride. Mainly because I still wanted to fit in my garage and I had a lifted HD prior to this and it got really old hopping in and out of it. A body lift was out of the question for me.

Please please don't go with the KMC slides, everyone seems to have those and the Boss 330. It would be nice to see a different wheel setup

I installed a 2.5 front / 1.5 rear kit. Running 285/50/22'ss (33x11.5) and had to do a fair amount of trimming and mod work to the fenderwell plastic on the front for turning angles. Wheels are OEM and have slightly higher offset than my factory 20's.

As a newbie Yukon owner, I've discovered Low factory ride height + no torsion bars means it's not as simple to get that front end up like some of us would like. If you're wanting 35's, you're going to need to add some sort of additional lift to a leveling kit (i.e. body lift) or do a suspension lift. I've read posts regarding adjustable replacement shocks / struts which may work in conjunction with a leveling kit...but I'm not really familiar with it or how much benefit you may gain.

I would love to do 22's with some beefy tires and a small lift, but something about lifting a 2WD vehicle just seems so wrong to me.
