I have a 95 yukon, i went to the snow last year and was using my 4x4 in a slow patch of snow, then we were back on the road and switched it back to 2wd, eventually i hit a second pathc of snow and kicke din the 4x4, but it would not..... and since then i have not used it because i think its going to be something expensive. i noticed the fuse was blown, so i put in a new one and when i shift to 4x4 is blows every single time. has anyone had this problem and any advice? thank you.

my door locks dont work either, i tried my switch on another truck and it worked. it wont work with my alarm or doig it manually. but when i press it i can hear a click from underneath were the steering wheel is. also anyone have this problem? any advice??

they may have crossed something with the alarm if its not factory (and i doubt it is on a 95) have you checked the wiring from the transfer case to the cab?

I'm not sure about the door locks, but I think I can help you with the 4x4. In the 95 yukon/tahoe there is an actuator in the front differential that is notorious for going bad. There may be a short in the actuator itself and that may be causing your fuse to blow. I think a new actuator will cost you about $60-$70 on ebay and can easily be replaced in your driveway. Hope that helps. btw the actuator sticks out of the differential on the passenger side

sounds like a dead relay for the door locks. if the fuse is good id find that relay.

My door locks do the exact same thing, started yesterday. pull the cover off the fuse panel on the driver side of the dash, look at the row of fuses closest to the firewall, just past that row, you will see two larger rectangular metal 30 amp fuses, simply touch the top one, i was looking around trying to fix my locking issue yesterday, and when I touched that fuse it literally burnt the skin off my finger, I disconnected the battery, and put a temp probe on it, and 5 minutes after i disconnected the battery, the temp was 191(f) degrees I don't know the culprit, but this is supposed to be your fuse for the door locks, but even with it removed the relay under the dash for the locks will still click when the button is pressed in either direction.

does anyone know where this "relay" is located because i cant seem to find it anywere and i already changed the two fuses on the side of the door and still no love. i dont see how it would be the door actuator since both dorrs wont work at all unless i manually move the lock up and down.

if you have a 2door and the alarm is aftermarket, it uses a reverse polarity locking system. to properly integrate anything aftermarket, the door lock motor wires in the truck have to be cut, and two relays are added. if the power supply/fuse to the relays or one of the relays itself goes bad, or if all of the wires are not properly connected, you will have no lock or unlock regardless of the switch or remotes. the clicking you hear may actually be the added relays. pull your drivers kick and look for a lt. blue and a white wire coming from the door boot that are cut or spliced (this is the most common place to grab these, some use passenger side though). 4doors are positive trigger locks, so if this is the case none of this would apply as no wires should be cut during install. what brand/model alarm do you have, and was it professionally installed (and when if you know)?

so im having kinda the same problem.. for like 4 years now, when i got my hoe it had a factory alarm and the door lock button in the truck does nothing, but the remote locks and unlocks the truck,

so the insides never worked,
and the cig lighter doesn't work either (same circuit)
anyway so i took the alarm out and the switch still doesn't work,
and now i have a viper alarm installed and same thing the remote works the locks but the switch in the truck doesn't work...

and the factory remote key fob still locks and unlocks the truck

weird i never figured it out..

so i bought a multimeter to check current, i checked the wires to the actuator on the driver side and they do have continuity. also checked it to the switch and it works, now how could i check to see if the actuators work? is there a way to test these or troubleshoot somehow to see if they even work. would i have to replace both in order for the door locks to work..... this is so frustrating...

I FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!
the door locks wont work because something is wrong with the alarm brain or i need to put a fuse between my alarm to my wires!!
figured it out by unplugging the lock and unlock wires out of the viper alarm brain. then my door locks worked!!!
my friend that installs alarms says we might have to put a relay or a fuse to those wires because something about the current not enabling the door locks to work. whatever it is atleasy now i know. i hope this helps someone!!!
