From time to time I’ve towed my Camaro with a clunky heavy uhaul trailer.
Doesn’t tow like a 2500HD duramax, but I don’t expect it to. It does its job just up and over plenty of grades.
Pill flip and consistent transmission fluid changes keep it running well.

24 ft and about 6900 lbs loaded. Does pretty good with the weight and length but close to the limits of what my Denali can safely handle.

My 2008 Sparksalot Special. About 1500#. The axle has brake flanges, but I’ve never installed any.

Prefer mine but I'll take it all. The suspension is generally setup the same from 2000 to 2020.

Towed this trailer many times between empty and 6K pounds with and without trailer brakes. This particular time it was at about 4K. Was always an effortless tow.



This run was also at about 4K pounds. Rear springs were sagging and were replaced soon after.


This run was to rescue a buddy's boat when his tow rig broke down. 6K pounds with no brakes through rush hour traffic on city streets. Nearly effortless as well.


This was one of several 130 mile round trip runs running between 3-5K pounds. Easy peasy!


Roller!:

This truck is equipped with the plain ZW7 suspension. It has OE ACDelco rear shocks and ACDelco Professional/Gold rear springs as the OE were not available when we rebuilt it. Front is all new OE and was completed around July of '21.

This is the weight of my rig in my post. We were pretty well loaded with two guys. Hunting gear. Propane and water. I am just under my axle max. I have the towing package and WDH.

More hotrods and classics than normal folks I guess. This is the light end of the spectrum... 3800 lbs, few months ago it was a Scout 2 that weighed combined 5500 with trailer. Trailer brakes are key to anything heavier than 4k lbs. And I am lowered....

We recently paid this camper forward to some family members whose kids are younger than ours and needed it more. But we had some great excursions in it. This one was at Rocky Mountain National Park.

This little camper hardly affected mileage and the truck seemed to not know it was even there.

I have an Elecraft K2 I built 20 years ago. I use a mobile vertical mounted on a stake with a few radials while camping.
