id like to see some mods you guys have done on your tahoes. We have to install fog lights ourselves because for some reason my LT did not come with them. Makes no sense it's completely loaded with everything! I'd like to add a few chrome accents but just not sure what I want to do. If you could post some mods you've done it would be greatly appreciated! I want to add chrome accent to the roof racks, running boards, and the back step on the rear bumper. I was thinking about adding chrome body moldings but after looking at pictures of LTZ's it seems they don't even have them?

Hi, new to the forum. I picked these Chrome LTZ style door handles up from eBay for about 59 bucks. I was very hesitant because of the price, but they actually look very nice and really look like the real thing. I also picked up the rear chrome strip for the bumper. I have to say something this little added a very nice touch to break it up and give it more contrast. I believe I only paid about 20 bucks for it. I also put the OEM Chrome mirrors and fog light eyebrows. I have yet to install the Chrome roof rack. Oh yes, I forgot yesterday and stalled the OEM chrome exhaust tip.

What did you do with your OEM door handles, rear strip, and mirrors?

So far I have only replaced the stock wheels with a set of RTX Canyons (18). Just like you though, I have other plans. First off is that I want to wrap the chrome pieces around my windows with black. I also have the glossy black emblems to replace all the chrome Tahoe and LT badges, but now considering just debadging the whole truck. I had also planned on wrapping the front grill with black, but after seeing another vehicle on here paint the front with white... I am in the process of getting a quote for that as well. upload_2017-3-21_15-24-53.png

this is the front which I am hoping to also do after seeing it done on @adcs2k

That front grill painted white looks really good. I have never seen anyone do that.

I'm still using the door handles. The chrome is just an overlay that attaches with 3M tape.

As for the rear strip, I just did a chrome overlay. The black mirror covers I am keeping incase I decide I'm done with the chrome.

Cool...thanks. I was asking because I'm in the process of deleting most/all of the chrome on my Tahoe by having them wrapped in black vinyl. It's still work in progress. I just thought that it would've been much easier to just swap parts with someone.

Looks nice! I was thinking of getting the chrome strip for the rear bumper too. We debadged the LT and put z71 badges on instead looks really good. But now I'm debating adding anymore chrome because z71 tahoes do not have any

On a dark vehicle like mine I feel the chrome molding really breaks things up in the back of the truck. On white I'm sure it would look good too, but it will not offer you the same contrast you would get from a black vehicle. I agree with you about the chrome though. The Z71 really seems to steer away from it.

No need to wrap the bowties. Use plasti dip. It comes out way way better and is very durable. I just sold my 2015 Tahoe which I purchased in 2014. My 2017 came with the black molded bowties, but my 2015 did not. I plasti dipped them and they came out as perfect as the ones on my 2017. I had them on for almost 3 years and they looked as good as the day I put them on. I could even hit it with a power washer and it would not come off. I did the vinyl on my Camaro, but it looks nowhere as good as the plasti dip when done right. I will find you a YouTube video. I also did it on my other daily drive (Chevy Cruze) and it came out perfect.

Here a link to you tube with several examples. You can't mess this stuff up.

Yeah I don't think I would get the same contrast as you would on a darker vehicle

Thank you for this video. I bought black carbon fiber vinyl I was going to put on the emblems. How does the plastidip stay on when you can just peel it off? That stuff is pretty cool

Well, it does peel off, but it takes effort to get it started. Put it this way, its only going to come off when you want it to. If its applied right you have nothing to worry about.
