Ok so Magneride shocks are blown and I am going to delete them. I am trying to figure out which directions to go.

This is all for a 2016 Yukon Denali 2wd.

Here are choices:

1. Belltech adjustable struts up front and norcalSS rear drop. This will be around a 1/3 and deleting the Magneride.

2. Bilstein 5100 set at 1.7" and delete. I am not sure if I should crank the 5100s or leave them at zero and then run a bottom spacer?

I am good either way stance wise, altho I think lowered would look better, but would be more parts and a bigger pain to get it all right. Leveled is what I normally do, die to simplicity, but then I am going to want bigger tires on my 22s.

Main goal is to get a better ride than the blown Magneride shocks, improve stance without over doing it, and not having the wife kill me. Any help would be awesome.

The Bilstein are popular all the way around. You can drop the rear a couple inches with just springs. All dependent on what you mean by bigger tires.

I meant that if I level the front up I will want to put more aggressive or bigger tires on it.

Gotcha. If you’re leaning toward lowering you’ve got quite a few options. I used a 2/3 kit with springs and spindles and have 305/40/22 tires. It’s a popular inexpensive set up. If you’ll tow you may want a set of helper bags out back. Good luck.

did you have to do anything else with the kit? Did you have to do the free travel mod?

Next time I need Tires, I will try 305/45r22 summer tires. discount tire is cool that if I dont like them, I can switch to 285
according to tire size comparison website, that should net me another 1" of lift.
Makes use of the fact that I am lifted, curious to see how it will look

I went with the Fox 2.0 coilovers for my wifes denali. Adjusted them for a level stance. Then used xineering’s bypass kit for the magnaride.

The rear is all stock at the moment. However, the rear shocks are now shot too, so will be swapping those out with Arnett factory replacement air assist type that dont have magnaride (come with a built in delete for the electronics).

I ended up talking with Max at Xingeering and he suggested the Monroe 139104's. I ended up buying the struts from Amazon and the bypass kit from Xingeering. Hopefully this will give me a little lift in the front and the smooth ride I have been missing.

No free travel mod but I did use shock extenders out back and got shorter bump stops.

I bought one of the spacer kits that fit on the bottom shock mount and added a bracket to extend the ride sensor so it was in the factory ride position. It raised the front end perfectly. I'm running the 275/60R20 Goodyear Ultraterrain which are 33" diameter. I just replaced my OEM Magneride struts/shocks with units from Arnott SK3354 and AS3066. They maintain the air leveling and have a built in resistor that fools the ride control. They were $1300 at Rockauto. The shock is an Eibach unit and the ride is incredible. I wish I knew about these when the truck was new, I would have replaced them then.
