I just watched a video on youtube where a guy used an iphone 3gs and he didnt buy that $40 cable, he just simply used the supplied iphone data cable and it worked. Well I went outside and hooked my iphone 3g up with my data cable into the usb cord and it worked fine just didnt show the album art and also it was charging my phone, so I really cant see the reason for buying that $40 cable anymore

well problem solved I just had to change my background back to a still image

hey platour

turn ur hu on a change the source from like radio to usd or sd and turn your volume up while it is attempting to read the device and let me know if you can hear anything, turn the volume up to like 30 but turn it back down before the music or whatever starts playing

I have a 2003 Yukon Denali with XM.

I am looking at getting the Pioneer AVH P4200DVD w/ XM module, Ipod cable for audio/video and steering wheel module.

Has anyone tried to install the pioneer XM module with the factory XM shark fin ant?

Trying to avoid add more items on roof.

Thank you

Heres my old install...had to cut sum of the
dash bezel but its all good. (2002).

Had the 6 disk cd/dvd changer all n 1, but
theres no need for all that now so I got da
single disk model, have navigation
on my personal mobile device so no need
for navi either, havent installed yet. Iv been using
Pionner models for 15 yrs now, cant c using anything else.

Question for all those with the 4200... When plugging in your iphone, ipod, or ipad, can you play movies/videos on the screen? I know the audio obviously works, but I'm interested in the video. I know I can use my composite inputs, but that wont charge. I didn't know if the supplied iphone data cable will do audio, video, and charge, or even if they $50 cable will do it...

Thanks,

Nathan

well....Im still playin wit my new deck but to answer the question,
no, it will not play video but it will play the sound of the video.
Guess thats why pioneer would like u to buy that 40-55 dollar au interface.

Its not that serious for me, I have 120 gb ipod classic
with just music, (& 1 tv show to c if it would show).

If I wanna watch a dvd ill just pop 1 in.

The features r great!
