Give @BlackBearPerf a call and have a 'remote tune' conversation with them. They are quite popular with folks on this Forum, and they are a qualified vendor for this Forum. For about ~$700.00, BBP will put a custom tune onto your motor and transmission, specific to what you are looking for, and it will provide a VERY noticeable difference to your motor and your transmission (the tune comes in 2 parts - one for the motor and one for the transmission). And, for a small fee, you can have them 'adjust' your custom tune in the future for any additional mods that you may want to install that would impact the motor or transmission (or even seemingly unrelated mods such as a tire size change that impacts your speedometer and you want it corrected).

I have a BBP remote tune on my 07 6.2 motor and 6 speed transmission, and it made a big difference on how my truck performs. I truly believe that this remote tune is the best performance mod for the dollar that is available for these trucks.

I second the recommendation for a Blackbear tune. Next, a Cam Motion Stage 2 truck cam (more power but still has a smooth-ish idle, just no VVT), or something from Texas Speed that would allow you to retain VVT, would wake it up - especially if coupled with long-tube headers. And of course a supercharger would work wonders.

The intakes and heads on these are incredibly good from the factory, so there's little to gain on the intake side.

If you want to go fast, don't add a 50 pound battery to the front end!

The performance mod with the best bang for the buck and the basis for all future modifications is the tune.

What are your goals and budget and how do you want to use the truck?

As an example my Yukon XL is rated for 310 HP at the flywheel. It makes 325 rear wheel horsepower through the traps in the quarter mile. It has a BlackBear Performance tune and a Magnaflow Y-Pipe and Cats.

I had plans to tow more often with it and a tractor pull is on my bucket list so it also got a 9.5" 14-Bolt rear axle and 3.73 gears replaced the 3.42s.

Did yours come with 3.08 (GU4) or 3.42 (GU6) gears?

if you are doing a parallel 2nd battery then this is the easiest (stock) method
the positive oem cable is pretty much no longer in stock almost everywhere, it connects to the battery and then goes under the engine to the starter and integrates into the existing harness plug-n-play #25825642

the oem negative cable would be #15888242 (out of stock) but, for best results have one made that goes from the 2nd negative battery terminal along the firewall and then connect to the 1st battery negative terminal.
then you just need the battery holder and bolt 14005061 which is the same part that gm has used across the board for around 40+ years, so there are tons of them around the junkyard or wherever, but you can get one for like $10 on ebay see link below
your 2012 should already have the battery tray.
