In my gmt900 I unplugged the antenna from the unit and used it for my aftermarket satellite radio receiver. Also swapped out the mirror for one that didn't have OnStar buttons.

Does your replacement mirror have a backup camera display in it?

The onstar buttons are pretty small and don't bother me much..
Too bad the buttons are not easily re-purposed. (probably not too difficult if you're into electronics..)

I recently saw a TSB that mentioned the UE0 OnStar Delete:

There is a jumper plug on the driver side with the part number 15127940, which it says is for HP2 hybrid vehicles only but also for UE0. In an OnStar vehicle there is probably a cable going toward the center console to the VCIM instead of the jumper but I haven't checked that.

Yep, I'm guessing it's the 'loop anchor' in this diagram..

What's the point of leaving something powered up you never use?

For me, I get distracted with all the noise, has happened on newer vehicles, accidentally pushing buttons while steering and suddenly car is talking to me. HATE IT! Same reason I killed the chimes and park assist. Don't need it beeping every time I back up. (always objects nearby)

Here's a story from about 2004. Someone (not me) was getting in an argument with their son, drove at a high rate of speed. Pulled over to discipline his kid. Car would not start. OnStar assumed there was an accident. He could not drive away! Had to wait for police to come and *may* have landed him in some other trouble even.. NO THANK YOU!

To each their own, why we are individuals!

You need to jumper the hslan wires if you want to remove it.
How did you get rid of park assist, I need it gone on mine. Thanks

It's only do-able on later models I believe.. For me I just had to unplug it! (and disconnect battery too)
I think 07-09 you might be out of luck, or need BCM programmed..

If you're isn't '10-'14, you might try Ewalts tuning.. https://www.ewaltsautotuning.com/tuning/p/gm-bcm-programming-25835966
I just bought a BCM for my '05 Suburban to give me the option to disable auto door locks. Should get it real soon..
Not sure if he had an updated calibration or had to do something custom.. (Most other GMT-800 years had the option)

NVM I see your's is a 2012!
I would just disconnect the battery, pull the fuse, maybe touch battery cables together, and re-connect the battery!
(Fuse should work.. I removed the module, it's under the passenger seat)

Anyone know if I delete the antenna from the OnStar module if remote start will still work? 2012 LT. FWIW I unplugged everything and have a dash full of warning lights but truck still runs. Just no remote start. Plan on plugging the electronics back in but leaving the antenna (Fakra Z plug) disconnected and replacing with a 50W 50 ohm dummy load so the amp doesn’t overheat and fry itself. But, love my remote start. Thoughts?

Don't need the onstar or related antenna for remote start.
Did you unplug the onstar as well? If so you need to jumper the network wires.

Update:
For those that don’t want to be tracked or increase the EMF feeding into their heads, this is what I found that works.
My LG unit had an L1 and L2 connector for interconnectivity with the BCM, ECM, CIA, A.I. and who knows what all. With the advent of the kill switch tech becoming law this year, I’m ticked off at Gov’t as well as the lame auto mfgs and decided I can’t trust them. Not to mention A.I. is smart enough to access the Internet outside its ‘sandbox’ isolation where it wasn’t connected to networks or the Internet directly. For those that think radio waves from LTE or 5G can’t be reconfigured in the future back to 3G or 4G by a supercomputer, more power to you. Ignorance is bliss.

The key in my truck was the single Fakra Z connector. I learned that some modules have two connectors for the cell phone antenna and the satellite antenna. Mine, fortunately, had one.
I purchased a Bingfu Fakra Z Female to SMA Female 12inch pigtail and an

XRDS -RF 50W SMA Male Dummy Load, 50 Ohm SMA Male Plug RF Dummy Load, 50W Terminal Terminator

Total cost around $30. Still emits a little EMF, but by the subwoofer behind the center console plastic access panel. Large hunch to dissipate the 3W output and capture the EMF, while preventing the amplifier from burning itself up.

Reset my DIC and remote start is working again. OnStar audio is operating but it won’t connect with OnStar. I tried for verification and was told by the voice that they were unable to connect.

Factory radio with XM has been replaced, so no Sat. connection there, either.

And for the cell phone argument, I have a de-Googled privacy phone that has no location features on it, either.

Success!

If I was the government, I'd want to keep tabs on people too! So I don't get mad about it..
What upsets me, are the non-sensical rules meant to take older cars off the road..

Kill switch would be a good reason not to buy a newer car..
(I've got a few more reasons, but money prevents me from even using them!)

I don't think anyone who doesn't want to be tracked will carry their phone or use a credit card. So even with all these other methods of tracking and snooping, one less thing is still one less thing!

Those that sit back and don't do anything are frogs being boiled. Surveillance without a crime or warrant is unconstitutional. Allow it, and what's next?
Flock - fight it if possible. Facial recognition - granted. Ticketing without knowledge by mail due to license recognition cameras - already happening in Colorado and unconstitutional. You could collect numerous tickets in a week and not even know it.
Bluetooth Low Energy - BLE, is an issue. Get a deGoogled phone that disallows it.
Insurance rates going up because your onboard surveillance indicates fast acceleration, hard braking and repeated speed limit excesses or going above x MPH; already occurred and will likely continue.
WiFi cameras? Not in my house. They are frequently hacked and viewed by strangers in the world and the clouds aren't safe, either.
Smart TVs? Samsung got in trouble with their microphones that were used to listen to people in their living rooms.
VPNs to make Internet travel anonymous. Easy.
2FA by cell phone number? Nope, gonna use a separate way of doing that if possible, e.g., OKTA

Go ahead. Be blissful and boil away. I, for one, will fight back every way I can. Do not comply! Fight.
