I don't know anything about the ABS unit but I'd take apart the old one, see if there's a plug in control module or circuit board that could be put in the replacement. The vehicle might recognize it and good to go - and stop.
Well I took it apart to see if was fixable. I read about cold solder joints on some that was doing what mine was with the abs and traction control lights coming on and dinging every few seconds which was annoying. But once I got it apart I realized it was nothing like that circuit board. So once it was apart there was no turning back

Also I looked at my old abs module. There seem to me different numbers. Which would be the actual part#
