Normal Rust?

Good day Family. New here. Can you guys take a look at this short video and let me know of this is a normal undercarriage of a 2023 Yukon. Located in northeast. (Massachusetts)

Unfortunately, I think that's normal as I've seen similar levels of rust on the newer rigs even here in Missouri. I just don't think that they do a great job of undercarriage rust prevention these days. I believe there are some aftermarket offerings out there, though, that you can use to stop the corrosion so that it doesn't get worse. I think 3M and Amsoil both have products.

Sometimes the amount of rust on critical frame and suspension parts just amazes me. And the thin sheet metal body looks great still.

Geez, my used 2019 from Wisconsin looked better than that when I bought it 1.5 years ago. Get the wire brush out!

That’s not bad for a northeast truck, but after another year or so it will really blossom. The remaining undercoat will hold moisture in and the rest of the frame will have the same rust. If you want the truck to last longer then wire brush, rust convert, prime and paint. Not hard but takes some time.
