No reverse lights

Okay, so after I tried to put on new taillights and failed. (see other post) on my 2011 yukon I realized that my reverse lights aren't working. So I pop it into reverse still nothing, so I figured I maybe I burnt um out switching it over so I drive to work and wait until it gets dark. Hit the unlock button boom they light up what could cause this?

If you had a PPV, I'd suggest the reverse relay because that gets overworked flashing lights. I had that problem with thecopcar. Hopefully it's something simpler for you.

I say simpler because the reverse relay is hardwired, so you end up changing the underhood fuse panel to fix that.
