Only thing I’ve done is install a catch can seems to work pretty.

Wow! What a score for the year! Welcome to the forum form an owner of the Identical truck.......mine just has 180k on it. LOL

As someone who had some growing pains with the 8 speed. Do yourself a favor and have the transmission flushed per the TSB about new fluid. Even if you have to pay for it yourself, it'll save potential trouble down the road. Best of luck with new ride!

Your ride looks slick, if the ac condenser has not been replaced, you should spend that money before any trips longer than one day. It’s a known problem for those models.

Already did the new trans fluid $$$, and added a K&N catch can it seems to work pretty good.

The torque converter on the 8 speed is pretty decent IMO. - 180k and climbing. The initial fluid would cause it to shudder due to moisture suspension in the fluid. Keep it serviced every 40k and don't drive it like you stole it all the time and you'll probably have nothing to worry about.
