Say hello to our new-to-us 2018 Yukon Denali! L86 with 10 speed transmission, 33k, just about perfect vehicle! Got the 6 yr, 60k Platinum warranty so looking to add a dongle for AFM delete when towing our camper. What’s the best/easiest dongle that we can plug and unplug as needed?
$33K or 33K miles? Good choice....

33K miles is super low for a 2018; Nice find!

You'll be glad you stepped up to the 18MY for the 10 speed, it's so much better of a driving experience compared to the previous 6 and 8 speed transmissions.

Yes, we are pretty excited about finding this nice cream puff. It’s also unusual that it is white with the lovely beige brown interior instead of black. Looking to keep this baby forever!

Anyone looking to purchase a lovely 07? Is there a place on the forum for sale listings?

Here are pics of our new-to-use Denali! Seems to pull really well. The Magnaride did a great job keeping the camper level and the ride and handling were nice and solid. Plenty of power! We ran in L9 to keep the V4 off and that worked great til we get a disabler.

Once the warranty is up guessing we’ll do the full delete.

Now we need big tow mirrors. Not the snap-on kind, real ones. The camper is 8’ wide so it’s pretty impossible to see around it. Any thoughts?

Buy mirrors from a 2500/3500 pickup truck? Even 1500 mirrors are wider than yours, but 2500/3500 are wider, taller, AND extendable.

Will those plug into the car and maintain some functions? We put nice ones on the ‘07 but I’m not seeing anything but snap-on for the ‘18.

Bet a 6.0L L76 / LY6 / L96 / LC8 COULD be cheaper to find and install, than a newer vehicle ...
Either way, good luck. Neither is easy, I know.
Just spent 9k for a reman 6.0 for my 2002 Silverado 2500HD. 4 yr unlimited mileage.
Cheaper than buying my truck again. Ext cab short bed Manny Tranny.

Looks great! Our Airstream is 8.5' wide and I just ended up buying the snap on ones. It was supposed to be just temporary while I looked for a set of proper towing mirrors, but I decided I don't want big mirrors on it all the time - I just don't like the look. It's nice to be able to just snap them off.

BTW - the stalling issue on your '07 is a known issue. There can be a couple of causes but the most common is that the hot oil pressure isn't quite high enough to return the VVT cam to the correct position for low rpm operation, and it stalls. Folks say they can usually get it started if they hold their foot to the floor on the gas while they crank the starter a few turns, and then release the pedal. The permanent solution is to replace the oil pump pickup tube o-ring. Our '07 hasn't had that problem, thankfully.

Wow, that’s a wide trailer. How does the car pull it? We’ve thought of moving to an airstream but hesitate as we’d have to get a longer trailer. All the shorter ones are single axil and we’re really not excited about the wet bath…

We did just do the pickup tube on the ‘07 but that pedal trick didn’t get us started.

Then we found a the 2018 with the 10 speed tranny. Just too many other issues with the ‘07 and we needed something more reliable for weeks-long trips.

That 10-speed will make a great hauler.

The ‘07 pulls the Airstream great but it’s only 6500 lbs, and 28’ long. I ended up buying a 2018 Suburban 3500 which hauls it even better.

We thought of that but what other issues with drivetrain, electrical, etc would we find down the road-literally!
NONE except for the ecm tune - all GM SmallBlock V8s are physically interchangeable with each other.
Literally, figuratively, whatever, just tune for the engine, whichever engine, off ya go. Verdamnt.

nice buy. You are way better off with that low mileage Yukon vs one with over 100k. You’d spend the difference in repairs soon enough. I had an older 2015 Tahoe and everything started falling apart after 120k. Mag ride shocks, air suspension, lift gates, power seats, blind spot modules, fuel injectors, etc.

Torque converter just crapped out at 175k so just got a new truck. Not dropping and more $$$ into it.

Good luck with yours.

Right, we’d already put about 15k into the ‘07 for new front end, power steering, shocks and struts (air shocks were already gone), sensors, fuel pump, the list goes on… And now the tranny is throwing codes… We can’t do our own repairs and life is short-we moved on. Really happy with the ‘18!

truck doors are different then the SUV doors, so the mirrors won't swap over. not like the older models, K2s were completely different but you can get some mirrors that look like the HD truck mirrrors. Boost auto has some of the highest quality mirrors on the market, with a lot of customizable features if you want them

The other option, if you want something that looks more aesthetically pleasing, would be escalade mirrors. More info on that in this thread. Made a huge difference on our burb, the esky's definitely got the better mirrors. Full plug and play and cheaper then the aftermarket towing mirrors, with a better aesthetic to them. Functionally, the aftermarket towing mirrors might be better for towing purposes though

Can see why most people find ecalade mirrors more aesthetically pleasing vs 1500 sierlverrada mirrors, but the 1500s extra width is more functional.
shucks ...

Esky mirrors are better than your stock ones.

Quick update on the “new to us” 2018 Yukon Denali - wow, what a nice car! Just got back from a trip up to Lake Placid, NY to visit friends. First long road trip in the “new baby” and what an easy trip! Averaged 22 mpg with a Range (100 % V8) over ~1300 miles, including some in-town driving and a couple hundred miles on the way home in auto 4-wheel with snow and ice. Very impressed with this vehicle! L86 with 10 speed transmission is the way to go!
