Looks good. I prefer to use ramps though because it’s easier/faster and for the drain pan I use one that has a long neck that goes right under the drain. No need to lift up a drain bucket.

All looks good. Recommend taking your ring off for future rig work. I have SEEN a guy lose his finger because of catching his ring while working on a vehicle.

The old oil looked pretty good even though it had only 3% life left.

Where did you come up with that catch can idea for the filter?

Last but not least, make sure you check all fluids under there while in the air. Diffs for example.

Reaper, that’s good feature on that pan. When this one starts to leak I’ll look into that. The harbor freight tarps are the ultimate backup. For whatever unforeseen spill. I don’t think I’ve ever not spilled atleast a little bit.

PNW, good call on the ring and checking fluids. The front and rear diff I wouldn’t think about unless there’s evidence of a leak but that’s a good idea since this is a used suburban and I haven’t checked yet.

The catch can was an idea I had that evolved from using an empty filter box with a paper towels inside and/or zip lock bag which I’ve both tried before. Sometimes I would just cradle old filter with an old rag but then I have a really oily rag to dispose of at the end.
