Anyone in this thread able to share minor annoyances or grievances about the vehicle after living with it?

I’m considering purchasing and have seen enough fluff reviews on YouTube. I want to know real owners thoughts from their day to day experiences

For being the top of the line trim level, I wish the sound system was much better (still have the rear seat volume issue). I also wish it had front massaging seats and a center console fridge.

I thought the center console cooler would be good option. After talking to a couple people who have it (Lexus/Toyota and a couple other manufacturers) the main complaint is it doesn’t get cold enough and the maintenance is an issue. Seems like it’s subject to moisture/mold if used intermittently.

I bought one of those cheap portable refrigerators from Amazon and put it in the back behind the 3rd row. There is an AC outlet there and the small refrigerator gets cold very fast and holds more than the center console. Not good for the driver to access when driving but a real refrigerator is better.

If you have rear passenger they can access it from behind seat. If no rear passenger you can fold down one of the rear seats and put it there as there is an AC outlet behind center console.

The brand I got is Bouge and it was under $200 and it is 21 quart. Big enough and small enough for the Tahoe.

In case this is helpful to anyone, here are the part numbers for the oem black parts. This will black out every single chrome thing on the vehicle. Depending on where you get parts from, you are looking at around $2000 in parts (the grill is the most expensive at $511)

I was able to get the 2025 RST grille installed on my 2025 High Country. I ordered the grille you mentioned, #85775020, but you will also need to order the RST front camera, #85843332, as the High Country camera trim is made into the grille and the RST camera is not. Also, for the grille to attach to the vehicle correctly, you will need stiffener, #84664454, as the High Country model is different than RST. I am still happy I did the swap. Just spent a bit more money than expected. Cheers!

I have had my 2024 High Country for over a year and I love it! Exceeded my expectations and my only complaint is the stock brakes. They work, but considering the rest of the top notch components and beautiful ride of this vehicle the brake system is the weak link. The performance brake system available through GM is the only thing I think this Tahoe needs, besides the performance exhaust! But my wife is definitely not in favor of that lol

I see the brakes are $3700 when ordered with the vehicle. But on eBay etc. way less expensive, sometimes even below $2000. Many of us here have replaced rotors and calipers but on a new car, I'd be hesitant (as in 6 miles or 9 miles etc.). I have wondered to myself, when the six piston brakes and the intake and exhaust are ordered on a new vehicle, and the dealer puts them in, what happens to the old parts? Does the dealer keep them? If so, even more reason to buy after the fact and install....I'm not saying that the car business isn't totally 100% honest, but I have seen stuff before where dealer claims they keep the parts, it's been factored in to the price, as if a core charge....Also saw a number the 16" rotors have 22% more brake pad swept area, hard to visualize what that would do to the stopping...

You can request the parts removed to be returned to you.

On Ebay there's no warranty either. If dealer installed, they fall under the 3/36 warranty.... And if they squeak, or a brake sensor goes bad, you deal with it.... what's that worth?

I agree 100% on Sound System, the HC should have something in between the 10 speaker Bose and the Denali/Escalade AKG 36 speaker system. The Ford Explorer ST has a 14 speaker system and its almost half the price.

Or, get a Denali! Just another reason to spend the extra 3500-4k

I’ve repeatedly found, if you equip them the same (as close as possible) the difference is 3500-5k. But it could depend on options you find important.

That's pretty good pricing...to be honest I think I did the Denali Ultimate so thats the difference

Thinking about selling our Tahoe as we have some other cars coming in, anyone have an idea what used pricing is at? KBB doesnt have a value either. I know I wont recoup much, if anything at all, for doing the full blackout with oem parts.

Could you guys help me out with the chrome delete parts? I just traded my 2014 in on a new 2025 High Country and I'm looking for a good way to black out the chrome on the side windows. It's so strange that the truck is black with all-black wheels, smoked out lights, Jet Black interior, and... two huge pieces of bright chrome on the windows. I don't know where to start (vinyl, hard overlay parts, etc.?) and any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Exchanges many factory parts as you can for black, especially around the windows.. Have a high level Body Shop remove every other chrome piece and prime or prep them for automotive paint and clear coat. This is the only solution that has long term legs. Not cheap. But if you want something that'll last, this is it.....
