Looking for a solution for an odd problem I had with my Brother's Tahoe: The hitch pin rotated while towing (a lawn tractor on a small trailer!) and now the angled end is caught in the slot for the safety chains. I'll post that in the correct forum in a bit but, really? Is the hitch that flexible or am I missing something?

Anyway, I probably won't be too much of a contributor (sorry), or much of an inquisitor, even though my wife drives it almost every day. It just works.

My diesel powered Volkswagens however...

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Lots of knowledgeable folks here who freely share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Knowledge is power.

I hope that you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

Pics of the truck, please.

IMO, just cut off the existing hitch pin and purchase a new one.

Update: my brother wanted his Tahoe back and we bought a Suburban. It's a 2013 LTZ 4x4, black w/black leather and 160k miles. So, it appears that I will be inquiring and contributing more than I originally thought.

Oh, yeah, it's a Colorado truck and doesn't have much rust. I didn't see any but my wife pointed out that the front corner of the hood has a little blister forming.
