On my new 2021 Yukon XL Denali I purchased last month brand new (1,000 miles on it now) I can feel a “buffeting” like feel on my ears while driving at speed 10-40 mph. It does it at higher speed but it is then masked by road noise when the vehicle is at higher speed.

The “noise” is like the “chopper sound” you get when a rear window is open but very very attenuated, it’s just a feel on my ears but present enough to bother me big time (windows are closed of course). I read a couple of posts about this on earlier models but I don’t think it is the same thing as I can hear it almost as soon as the rig takes off at very low speeds.

The frequency of the pressure waves is constant and not speed related. I can barely hear it in the second row and I am not hearing it at all in the 3rd row. Only in the first row and mostly in the driver seat. My wife can’t hear it, at the dealership the mechanic and service advisor couldn’t hear it either, my daughter can hear it a little, I am puzzled. I tried an another one, I felt it is there too but not as much as in mine.

I never had a 6.2l GM engine before. Does anyone had this and know a possible root cause? Or is it just me being oversensitive?

i Had a problem with a brake clip of some type. It made a slight scraping sound as the wheel spun. The clip was there to assist in keeping the breaks clean. If I opened the windows and drove slowly having one side parallel to a wall it was more distinctive
clip may be the wrong word to describe the part

The pulsating noise is not wheel rotation speed dependent.

@Blueinterceptor do you know where the vents are located on the Denali? The only air access I see in the front are behind the front grille and nothing on the front bumper. Behind the grille there is a flap on the top but that’s going to be air admission to the engine right?

I can’t drive my Denali with just the rear windows down due to that buffeting. Opening the sunroof helps. Basically, the rear windows stay up and all is fine.

That would be great if it could be even like this. For me, all windows are closed and still hearing it. From 8-10mph. I am puzzeld.

Sounds similar to the buffeting issues they had when the 2015's came out.....

As I recall they were at low to medium speeds as well..................

yup.... 25-75mph range in the K2xx platform

GM never really figured it out... there were all kinds of things they tried.
guess the redesign & new chassis didnt fix it

Ok thanks. Then it seems I am in a dead end. I’ll have to get rid of it.

I hope you get it figured out. Sadly, Im no help on this one. Please post if you figure it out
I won’t. Dealer says they don’t hear it so it’s a dead end as I am not going to spend the energy here. I’ll get rid of the car. A 100k POS. I am really p**sed.

Yep I’ve looked into this. When I put the engine into L5 and force all the cylinders to work it seems to be still there but I am not sure. Maybe I can try at a different dealer. This thing is complicated as some people other than at the dealership really do not hear it (e.g., my wife who I can trust).
