Hello,
I am new here and I need help with my Yukon. I have a 2005 Yukon Denali AWD and about a week ago I started hearing this horrible squeal coming from the left front....I think. I noticed that the rotor on the left front was really badly ribbed and so I figured I had either some bad brake pads or a bad left rotor. So, I went to Auto Zone and they replaced my brake pads for free since I just purchased them in April and I purchased new rotors and calipers and replaced both front rotors and both front calipers. Nothing has changed, the truck is still squealing. It squeals worse when I brake and worse when I turn to the right. It stops when I turn left for the most part. It squeals some when I am going straight but not near as bad as when I turn right.
Somebody please help!!!
Thanks
Ryan

Is it metal on metal or just a squeal? Check the power steering belt. And all other belts. They can make horrible noise if they aren't tight.

It sure sounds like metal on metal, but I really don't know. The belt looks good, it's fairly new and in good condition. I'm really at a loss here at what is going on.

that sounds like a wheel/hub bearing. jack up the left front wheel and grab it on the top and bottom of the tire and try to rock it back and forth to see if there is excessive play. and if it turns out to be the bearing, replace both sides at the same time because the other side will most likely go bad shortly.

i just replaced one on my friends silverado SS and told him to get both sides.

well he refused and now the other side is going and i`m not replacing this one:emotions122: at least not for free.

Ok Sasquatch, there is about a 1/4 inch of play in the left wheel and absolutely no play in the right wheel at all, so that must be my problem. How much trouble is it to replace the bearing and are there any gotchas that I need to know about?
