NEED HELP!!! Couldn't find solid info elsewhere!!

Hey guys I've got a question. I have a 99 4d 2wd 5.7 v8 ls Tahoe and I found another on but 4wd without engine or trans. So my question would be, can I drop the engine and trans from the 2wd into the 4wd and will the 4wd still work or do I need to modify the trans from my 2wd? And if I do need to change it how and what do I do?

you can drop the engine/tranny in the 4wd but you will need to take off the tail housing on the tranny to get the t-case adapter to mount on it. if the t-case is missing the adapter find a used one somewhere. frames are different so make sure the bracing rods are in the right places after install.
