I have a 2013 Tahoe I purchased new. It's had some "interesting" issues over its life, the most frustrating one was a "cam position sensor " code, Replaced the sensor, still had the code, so I started checking the wiring. What I found was a 2 inch section of wire was missing from a low hanging harness which passed right over a front diff mount. My guess is the diff flexed in the mount and the limiting washers cut the wire. Problem was I had to replace the plug on both ends, because there wasn't enough wire left to replace the missing section.
Now, about a year ago, my fuel pump control module failed, so replaced it with a "preprogrammed" one from Rock Auto. Worked great, until this past Sunday, when it did the same thing when the first one failed, cranks, no start, no fuel pressure,
Should I get an unporogrammed controller, this time, and can it be programmed without first being installed? It's been a good truck otherwise, paid for, less than 60,000 miles, pullsmy camper woth ease, and ar 66, I'm too damned close to retirement to take on a new car payment.

In the meantime, I still have my 1978 Malibu, all I need to fix it is a hammer, pliers, Cresent wrench, screwdriver, some baling wire, and if I want it to look good, duct tape.
