my math right?

i was plannin on doing a 2/3 this year but hesitated since it was sorta late in the year and a drop on winter wheels would look goofy as shit. then yesterday i made a deal with a buddy that he gets the esky 22's in exchange for fairly new nnbs tahoe 20"s (to use as winter wheels)+cash+ free suspension work. now im thinkin i can get me some 24's and do a 3/5 drop without as much damage to the wallet as i thot, wont be until atleast march tho, not gunna drop it right before the winter.

heres the math, stock rims of 17" to a 24" is roughly a 3.5 inch radius difference so without a drop the height would be 3.5 inches higher i think, so doing a 3/5 im still gunna sit .5" higher than stock up front and only 1.5" lower in the back, right? people who have 24's and a 3/5, are you still riding around stock height?i dont wanna be too low to the ground as i like being fairly high up and judging from other people's pics, thats what it looks like but its hard to gauge

Hate to break it to you Masshoe but your a bit confused.
Stock 17 wheel/tires have a diameter of about 31-32" or so, the 24 wheel/tire combo is about 32.5" diameter at a 295 or 305/35/24 tire.
So basically your car would be 1/2" higher or so after the 24s, then lowerin 3/5 would make it 2.5" lower than stock in the front and about 4.5" lower than stock in the back.
I think that should cover it, and winter wheels with a drop don't look bad, I would jsut get some black wheel with chrome c-caps like cops use for winter, looks better that way.

thanks nnaboy, i knew sumthin didnt add up in this ol' noggin of mine,affter i put the 22's on i noticed it seemd significantly higher but i never took any measurements prior. the 2.5 upfront shouldnt bother me and the 4" or so in the back would make sense as it would needs to level out a bit.
stock rims with a significant drop looks a little off in my opinion, which is why i didnt do it a month or 2 ago when i contemplated it, but now that i'll have 20's for the winter i think i can be content with that

Yeah I have a feeling it's gunna be lower sooner than later, I was tryin to plan it so I could take the 20"s off for the winter, drop it and put the 24"a on so I get it all at once. Problem with that is 1) lotta money all at once and 2) me and I know I'm not gunna be able to wait that long so probly next time my paycheck isn't devoted to bills I'll do sum "investing" that way I have sum time to put extra money together for rims......besides i'll still sit higher than alot of the cars on the road

Keep the 20s and the truck will be quicker. You also have much more availability for tires in a 20 not to mention the cost difference. I'm gonna have winter 20s and summer 20s with 30" tires, keeps the truck lower and looks great
