Looked at a 2014 Acadia today. Was in pretty good shape body and interior wise. Very little in the way of rust underneath. The usual dings in the body but not terrible. Water in both rear lights, brakes were about 10-20K form shot, front tires were cupping and there was a notable clunk in the steering, oil leak at the bell housing. Couldn't drive it because it wasn't through their "inspection". Looking at some others provided the next winter storm doesn't kill us all.

Those cars don't age like ours and as they age, parts become tough to come by.
Any recommendations? I am feeling a little leery of the Acadia lately.

I figured with Hyundai being a growing company and one of the largest across the pond that they would have pretty good coverage for common wear parts well i to the future.

They are good cars, not overly complex. We've got a 2007 Kia and while we can still get engine parts, it's salvage yard for interior parts. The kids say the transmission clunks once in a while. We've kept the fluid clean but if it goes, we're not fixing it. Both rear door handles broke which necessitated the destruction of the interior door panels to get the door open again. Maybe I'm being too critical. My sister and parents have been driving them since 1999.

My Dad wrecked his Soul a few months back, forgot to change the oil and the motor died. He traded it on on a new Sedona. My sister is driving her second Sportage.

Is this model one of the easy ones to steal?

Good luck with the storm! It’s nuts so far! Close to 2 feet just in the last 24 hours here in big bear and they’re calling for between 2-3 more feet of snow between now and Saturday!! We don’t have anywhere to our all that snow lol. The three highways in and out of big bear are currently shut down and all roads in big bear are under R3 chain restrictions and probably will be for several days. That didn’t stop me from trucking in to the resort today with no chains to teach my private lessons that I had booked with students lol.
