get some ss3 max and that will light up all that dark area on both sides of the road about 40-50 feet each side.

Good seeing the deer before it was too late.
In my neck of the woods, there are no street lights (or shoulders) at all, so I absolutely need to depend on my headlights to avoid deer and bears.
