Hello everybody, I'm trying to see what how many miles everybody is getting out of a tank of gas. I live in south east Michigan and I'm the proud owner of a 03 yukon slt with a 5.3 motor and 285 75 16 BF Goodrich tires and a volant cold air intake with ram air scoop. During the summer months I was getting between 400 and 415 miles per tank of gas. Now that it's cold and (I'm assuming ) with the winter blend of gas I'm only getting roughly 315 miles out of a tank of gas. I started filling up with premium and I got roughly 340 miles out of a tank. All the maintenance on my truck is up to date and I don't know what to check to try and improve the mileage. I figure that this is something that I will have to just suck up and deal with.

Once again I just wanted to see how many miles everybody else is getting per tank of gas out of there Yukons and Tahoes especially people that live in states that get cold and lots of snow.

I usually go from around 16 mpg in the summer to about 14mpg in the winter with my 05 Denali XL. The reasons for this are that the winter blend gas isn't as efficient, it takes longer for the engine to warm up, and I let it idle a lot more during cold weather. That's my opinion anyway.

I usually lose about 2-3 MPG's with this ****** winterblend gas in WI. I usually see about 16ish average and now am getting 13's(mostly city driving). I've seen it happen with all my vehicles.....good thing I don't drive alot ;)

For me, I think the long warm up time, and letting the vehicle actually sit and warm up are the majority of my lost mpg's.
If I fill up on winter gas and drive out of town(hundreds of miles), I see very little change. If I am in town and my Denali takes miles to warm up and/or I am letting the truck idle, my mpg's drop significantly. The more short trips(engine doesn't get to temp) and the more idle time, my mpg's plummet.
