So 2018 Yukon Denali XL with 58k. Moms taxi to karate 2-3 times a week, so tailgate gets a workout with all their gear and groceries etc.
so it works fine with either button or key fob. The new issue is as it closes its slamming shut the last couple inches.
Anyone deal with this? It’s in the 60’s so not cold and it goes up and mostly down at normal speed.
Could it be just an adjustment? Support strut starting to die? Any ideas are welcome.

I have the same issue on my 2019 Escalade and have replaced the struts and the latch/actuator, but mine will go a step further and the hatch will pop back open when it slams shut. Last thing to check is the module. Does anyone know if a bad or going out module can cause this?

Figured out my issue, it was due to water intrusion causing corroded terminals on the side sensors on the lift gate. I cleaned them up and added dielectric grease, and its been perfect.
