Curious, what happens if you lift up the truck? Does the E-level keep trying to fill the bags? Let say like the Lincoln town cars they have a switch in the trunk to turn off the air ride because with no load on the suspension the compressor will keep filling the bag and possible blow them

They use a sensor that has a linkage that goes down to a collar on the control arm in the front and 4-link bar in the rear, the sensor reads a voltage as the arm moves and sends that to the AccuAir ECU, essentially the voltage is your ride height. When you first set up the system you calibrate it which tells the ECU the high and low point of each sensor then you set a ride height which you set up and the ECU stores the sensors voltage setting. If the sensor does not send a reading to the ECU then the system will show an error and not add or remove air, so to answer your question Sumo it is possible but not likely that it would happen and has not happened that I know of in any of the hundreds of kits we have sold. The most likely situation that it could happen in is if the valve would stick open but I believe the tank is only set to 150 PSI which is not enough air pressure to blow a bag so the pressure switch would have to be faulty at the same time causing the tank to have to much pressure and then allow more pressure then the bag is rated at. The ECU could malfunction causing both of these scenarios to happen but as most things it would be unlikely.
I figured I would give you the condensed version
Edit: The system turns on and off with the key (if hooked up correctly) and if you by chance left the key on and jacked the truck up it may add some air but would after 10 minutes (IIRC) they system would go into an error state as it is adding air and the ride height is not increasing. You would need to turn the key off which would power down the AccuAir ECU and reset any error codes, I recommend taking it off the jack stands before this.

You're over thinking the system, it's reading off the individual height sensors. Opposite of the lincoln's convention which was a pressure read.
Not over thinking it as much as thinking of obsolete systems.

i wish, but going to pay off wifes car for same amount. THat will put 300 a month more in my pocket then maybe i can resave for this if you still have it. One thing that worries me is How would the connections and fittings hold up to the Weather/winter salts of New England
