So the 7 blade and the 9 blade use the same 700 watt motors?

Did you install the 9 blade fan on both sides of yours?
I thought mine was the dual 9 but I just checked and it is the 7/9 like those I linked and the motors are correct, rockauto does not show another motor option

This is what I wrote down last time we talked about it:

Fan, Motor, 5.3/6.0 - 89023368
Fan, Motor, 6.2 - 5-Blade - Right - 20903475
Fan, Motor, 6.2 - 5-Blade - Left - 20903474
Fan, Motor, 6.2 - 9-Blade - Right - 15780796
Fan, Motor, 6.2 - 9-Blade - Left - 15780795
Fan, Motor, K5L - 700 Watt - 7-Blade Rimmed - Right - 15780796
Fan, Motor, K5L - 700 Watt - 9-Blade Rimmed - Left - 15780795

Fan, Blade Assembly, 5.3/6.0 - 7-Blade Rimmed - Right - 89024933
Fan, Blade Assembly, 5.3/6.0 - 5-Blade Rimmed - Left - 89023366
Fan, Blade Assembly, 6.2 - 5-Blade Rimless - Right - 20897350
Fan, Blade Assembly, 6.2 - 5-Blade Rimless - Left - 20897351
Fan, Blade Assembly, 6.2 - 7-Blade Rimmed - Right - 15780793
Fan, Blade Assembly, 6.2 - 9-Blade Rimmed - Left - 15780794

Fan, Shroud Assembly, 5.3/6.0 - 15780788
Fan, Shroud Assembly, 6.2, Cadillac/GMC - 5-Blade - 15780788
Fan, Shroud Assembly, 6.2, Cadillac/GMC - 9-Blade - 15780789

So K5L uses 15700793, 15700794, 15780795, 15700796 and 15780789. Shop manual says it does not matter which side has 7 blade or 9 blade fan and I do not remember how mine are.

interesting that you asked though, I think the 9 blade fan has a slightly larger outer diameter and would not fit or spin in the 7 blade fan position, it's been a while but I think that is the case so they cant be accidentally mixed up, it was either that or the center slot where the motor shaft goes thru was a different shape.

I wonder what the part number is for a 9 blade rimmed right fan assembly is?

I need to look at the extra set of fans I have out in my shed... can't remember if they are the 5/7 or 7/9 setup.

I would guess you could swap them to have 9 blades on both don't you think?

***edit***

Just read your other post... then I saw where James said the manual doesn't specify which side gets the 9 blade so that makes me think you could probably get two 9 blade motors and it would work.

I think there is something different just not sure what because I would have just done the same while I was putting it together, I'll have to get my tape measure and check or if you have a 7 and 9 rimmed fan laying around measure the diameter and look on the backside where it mounts to the motor, the 7 blade has 7 slots on the back and 9 blade has 9 slots on the back that might be what it was or the motor fitting that it goes on was different.

So the K5L 700w motors are the same motors used on the 6.2l with 9 blade fans?

There is not a 9/9 setup, something to do with harmonics or something like that. I could also be mistaken about which side the fans go on and confused that with relay activation and wiring.
you are probably right because I think if anything was going to have a 9/9 it would be the hummer and it only showed 7/9

I was just going by the part numbers James listed above.

K5L 700w motors are same part numbers as 6.2l 9 blade motors

From the shop manual:

The electric cooling fan assembly uses a 5-blade fan and a 7-blade fan. It does not matter which side the fan blades are installed on. DO NOT install two 5-blade assemblies or two 7-blade assemblies, as this would cause a noise issue.

Thanks for all the info guys, I'll take a look tomorrow and count the blades. If I need to I'll pick up the one that doubeilve listed and the new motors for cheap insurance
