This is what I have posted at CL. I know some here will say use FB but I am barred off of there. They did not like my politics 3-4 years ago. More than $100

"This is strictly exploratory at the moment--Unless a great offer comes of this and then the "Career in a Snap On 3 tier Rollaway" is sold.
I am a retired former ASE Master Tech and ASE Service Consultant and at 72 years of age, I feel that my physical mechanical/diagnostic time, is coming to an end. I do not want these tools to gather dust. If there is a younger future tech out there and wants to save money by staying off the tool trucks, then here you go. As of right this minute, there is no set price and I will not sell it all individually. If that offends someone, well too bad. My tools will be sold my way. You do you. I will post pics and be aware, there are several cases of sets and specialty tools that I have not opened up and posted pics for. If you need to ask about what you may not see, ask away. I am loaded with Milwaukee Tools power equipment: 1/2" impact, 3/8" impact, 1/4" ratchet, 1/4" long reach ratchet, 3/8" ratchet, 3/8" long reach ratchet, drill and grinder. 2 charging stations. Roll around shop battery charger. Drop lights. Again, if you do not see it....ASK! Also, unlike the tool boxes you always see on here for sale, I have 2 barrel keys for each box.

Of course, this is a cash only sale. No checks of any kind or trades. You can contact at CL email and call/text and leave message if no answer. Thank you in advance. No Payments!"

Just gonna post some of the posted photos.

You've got some nice tools there. Always sad when your body is telling you it's time to let go when you're not ready.

I hope that you hit a tipping point where some of the sadness/depression this can generate is replaced by relief. As big a bummer as it can be, I think it's like an athlete retiring before he has to; before he just can't compete any more.

I spent the last year, before I retired, praying my body would get me all the way to my retirement [from a pretty physical job that had already cost me 3 knee replacements and surgeries on both shoulders]. I was breaking down at a scary rate.

Will this impact your “somedays I wish I didn’t turn wrenches” page? Or do you have more tools to continue servicing?
It will effect it. I will be switching from turning wrenches in my driveway, to light duty maintenance on personal vehicles and working in my friend's shop doing admin duties.

So you found kind of a middle ground? Good deal.

joe
Oh yea. It's all gonna be good. I had been looking for a service advisor position anyway but was not looking forward to 5 days a week and 8 to 9 hour days.
This admin work at my friend's shop will be more like 20 hours and mostly from home. It will allow me to still get dirty, within my medical bounds, and also a place I can take care of my own vehicles.

It's funny, sometimes, how you can blink, and everything has fallen into place.

joe
I did work in the same shop helping him do major engine work on a Toyota FJ Cruiser 4.0 and also helped him put and engine and transmission in my across the street neighbor's 2006 F150 4x4 with a 5.4. We worked well together and even though I am 30 years older, I showed him that I still had some skills and knowledge.

He then asked if I wanted to work in his shop every day and I tried it for a while but it was just too much for my old body and I went back to working out of the driveway at home and doing it when I wanted too.

Then I got this 2004 Silverado K2500HD and I have a list of things I want to do but some I don't want to tackle alone in my driveway on my back. I was gonna hire him to do all the work and help and save a little on the labor and he also gives a military discount.

Then some delays have slowed us down and then I told him about the medical problems and he said he knows of my history as a service writer/advisor and asked me to do that at the shop and then we can still do the truck together. I can come in later than he does and even work from home because most of it is computer work and phones and that is what slows him down on his mechanical work. It's a win/win and I can still stay in a shop atmosphere where I like it. My girl is ok with it too.

These old bones just need to ease back and take care of themselves. That is why the tools that I would not need at the house when I am tinkering with oil changes and fluid changes, need to go to a good home and make the shop money. I will sell all of it and just go to HF and get a small roll around box and some ICON tools and all good.
