Is the turn signal/wiper stalk supposed to be back-lighted?

I have a 2022 Yukon Denali purchased new and when driving at night and it starts raining it's nearly impossible to find the right wiper control on the left turn signal stalk because the controls are not lit at least in my Yukon. This just seems crazy and I'm wondering if it's supposed to be back-lighted and just mine has never worked or had the LED installed (?).

Mine s the same on my 2024 Tahoe Premier. Poor design.

My wife has a 2025 Equinox RS AWD and the left turn signal stalk has tabs for the front and rear wiper switches, but are awkward to use due to the size (and can’t be used if wearing gloves). Another poor design.

Same with me. I end up turning on the rear wiper instead of the front.
Thanks for confirming this is the design.
